Hi Folks,
might seem like a very dumb question but i just can´t meassure the strike plate position on my bow.
Ok, first thin is i have really hard times with all those 1/4 1/8 inch things because i was brought up using cm. I got a calculator now that i can convert it with.
But the big problem is where do i measure and where is center?
I thought it this way:
Meassure the thickest part of the riser , divide by 2 = center
Then meassure the thickness of the riser at the strike plate, but it is thiner there to one side i beliefe.

First, you ahve to establish a centerline. That's normally done from a point on the limbs, not the riser. Some bows don't line up the center of the limbs with the center of the grip, shelf or riser.
Once you have a centerline, you can use a flexible straightedge to extend the centerline down the face of the riser, then measure from that centerline to your strike plate for figure out how far off center you are.
Sound complicated? It's not, but dealing with all the curves of a bow makes it a challenge. It's easier to call the bow manufacturer and find out where they cut the sight window in relation to center, then measure out from there.
