hey guys lookin to buy me some broadheads for my alum arrows. i need some suggestions on a good durable broadhead that doesnt cost me and arm and a leg. i would like something tough and reliable thanks guys. please post the price and where i canget the head at to tahnks.
Snuffers, Ace or Eclipse with screw inserts and you'll get your dollars worth.Check the classifieds here for a good deal.
Ace,Zwickey,Eclipse,Magnus,WW and Snuffers.
All these are great. Some auction sites too if you cant find 'em in the classifieds.
grizzlies. 25 bucks for six heads. Very good steel. the new ones have all teh bugs worked out for easier sharpening.
Ace Standard or Super Express. Easy to sharpen, tough as nails and about $21 or $22 for 6. Just Google" Ace Archery". Bob
What weight do you want? Do you have as preference for 2, 3, or 4 blades? That would help people narrow down some options for you rather than naming every non high end head out there. There are a lot of good ones.
Stos are about $24 for six. Not too bad.
ACE........
STOS is as good as it gets for the money.
Old Bears of and auction or Ace standards are tough to beat. Super. Also a plug for Eclipse, but they're gonna cost a bit more. Still won't be too bad though.
lots of good ones... but I am quite fond of the eclipse 2 blades myself... a few $$ more than the cheaper ones, but soft enough to sharpen, yet hard enough to hold the edge...
That Dadgum Terry Green, offered up some good 'ole, nasty, easy sharpenen', straight shootun' monkey butt, daw gun cheap ZWICKEEEEES!
For a Contributtons, ya cood of got them! :dunno
Yeah, closed my eyes for a minit, an mis tit!
3-blade Magnus Snuffers are fine broadheads if you can sharpen. If not, I'd go with some Thunderheads or Muzzy BH's with replaceable blades. Both super sharp and fly great.
Go to 3Rivers archery and look at what they have, which is a heck of a bunch! You will get a good idea on prices and be sure to read the reviews.....that always helps me when chosing a new product.
Pick one that you think you will get along with.

Ace and Tuskers [and Ribteks if you can find them] ... all tough as nails and hold great edges .
In 25 years of hunting I have never had a Tusker or Ribtek broadhead fail on me ...
My favorite 2 blades are the OLD zephyrs (hard to find) and Abowyer (which are a bit pricey), so that doesn't do you much good.
The snuffer is an AWESOME 3 blade head, readily available, and relatively inexpensive.
Grizzly

:knothead:
Can't go wrong with ACE BH's.I think best bang for the buck in a BH.Easy to get sharp too.
Ace broadheads straight from the company (check the sponsors list). Quality second to none, great price, and they won't gouge you on shipping.
woodsmen, magnus II, magnus 4, grizzlies
STOS by far, strong, and real easy to sharpen.
25.99 for six
BraveheartArchery.us, best place to order, they are real quick, as if they deliver it themselves.
There are so many:Zwickey-Magnus-Stos-Grizzly.
I bought a dozen journyman---now eclispe in 1994 and still have 6 of the original. Bear, turkey, deer, squirrel, woodchuck, rabbits, trees, and the ground, did a number on them all.
Zwickey Eskimos, Magnus, stos
Zwickeys,Grizzlys and Stots, doesn't get much better.REMEMBER our sponsors buy mine from Braveheart and 3Rivers.
Zwickey
Grizzlys
Magnus
STOS
Snuffers
Ace
...in no particular order, all about mid twenties-ish per six
Good Luck -
Kris
Open up any of the big boy commercial catalogs for hunting. And anything but the one inside should be good. :goldtooth: I think snuffers and any 2 blade would be good. Prices are pretty much within a few dollars of the competition.

Also you could add the original Wensel Woodsman to that list.

Eclipse, Grizzlys, Magnus, Woodsman, Snuffers, and Ace, I have never had a problem with any of these. My preference is the Eclipse with bleeders.
magnus zwickey stos snuffers wenzel woodsman just to list some .these are all good heads .it almost gets down to personal choice .heck i know guys that use bear razor heads the old one s they are good also .
Magnus 125g.
Stos or zwickey. Both excellent

They were not for contributors he was offering a contributor membership with the purchase.
I am shooting a low weight bow so I shoot 2blade and this year Grizzly's did the job...PR
Well they are not cheap but since I have shoot them the same three for a few years and season I like the G5 monotecs. I target shoot them before season and put them on my stone and hone the right up. I have shot them in the ground and again put them on my stone and put the edge back on them. I have shot them for at least 4 years now. The same three, hit a button buck just below the jaw in the neck. (not on purpose and if the brush was not so thick where he ran off two I would have seen him go down. The blood trail was thick and heavy. Still got um and will use them next year. I quess the were not all that expensive.
Zwickey Eskimo's are the cheapest in price at $18.50 for 6 direct from Zwickey Archery Inc, easy to sharpen 2 blade.
STOS for me as well
I like the Ace Standard. Closest I could get to the old Bear Razorheads but probably a little tougher. Two blades, easily sharpened, different weights, fly straight and cheap enough to buy an extra pack.
Ace is the oldest broadhead made today, even before Zwickey. Interlocking ferrule, spot welded triple layer tip.
They spin test and fly perfect.
For the money, Zwickeys have stood the test of time.
Ribteks. Even with shipping from Australia, they come in at $3 each.
ACE! Lots of choices and great people to support.
Bob and Jan are tops.

aluminum arrows meaning "screw-in" right???? if you don't want to mount inserts in the taper only broadheadsa AND if you don't know how to get them sharp from scratch or you are not sure on these two things----> for now get the Magnus Stinger or buzzcut or the Muzzy Phantom..
theres many many more like everyone is posting but they may cost more or need to be sharpened or need to have inserts mounted ""correctly" so they spin straight..
I bought screw-in woodsmans from 3 rivers and all 6 wobbled on my spin tester,, glue on woodsman yes screw on NO.
for me, i love the Magnus II 125gr. mounted on a short 25gr. adapter! the carbon steel is soo easy to sharpen and no vents to worry about noise:)
30coupe,
Absolutely you are spot on with WW's...I was just sticking with 2 blade heads. I do not currently use the WW or Snuffers though, as I feel they are too noisy in flight, many dispute this, but test it for yourself. Despite this, I have killed a number of nice bucks with Snuffers and would not hesitate to do the same with the Woodsmans.
More choices out there than we could exhaust in a lifetime! All the "traditional fixed blade heads" are a good choice IMO.
Use them where they apply, obtain excellent arrow flight and shoot them as sharp as you can possibly get them (old news).
Best of Luck!
Kris
magnus....cheap everywhere
STOS glue on broadheads. Strong, tips don't curl, easy to sharpen and fly great.
I get the Magnus Stinger two blades from Braveheart archery. They're a sponsor here and they have great customer service, quick shipping at reasonable rates and the broadheads are under $30 for three screw in heads.
I've shot a bunch of different broadheads over the years... 2, 3, and 4 blades... I'm sticking with the Magnus 1 2-blade and the Zwickey Delta 4-blade. Easy to sharpen, hold an edge well, durable, and put critters on the ground when I do my part.
As many have said, there are a bunch of broadheads out there, some more expensive then others... But, if you get yourself pretty much anyone of the "Name Brand" cut on contact fixed blades out there (be it a 2, 3, or 4 blade), make sure that it's sharp and spins true on your arrow it will do the job for you.
The rest is just semantics IMO...
wensel woodsmans are the best bang for my buck.
If you hurry we've got the Magnus II's on sale for $19.99, a fine broadhead, but they are going fast.
They are glue on's, I couldn't tell if you wanted screw in's or not.
