Been reading on here some folks' accuracy has picked up since switching to a tab.
Anyone care to comment
Tab ?
Glove?
I shoot a tab- has no bearing on accuracy, purely whatcha' like.
I can miss with glove or tab. Wore a hole in the glove so using a tab right now shoot the same.
this subject has been hashed to death - do a powwow search. the bottom line is, try both, you decide. one style is not better than the other. this is like asking "flemish or endless strings?" - they're all good for bowhunting, and asking which is best is totally meaningless ....
It is your preference for hunting I think, but if you are talking top accuracy, than take a look to see what the top 3D and Olympic shooters are using. I have found the tab to be better in general, but I have found a couple gloves I shot real well with.
I prefer a tab over a glove because, for me, I get a cleaner release when I let loose an arrow.
Try both, or use a super archery mitt, kinda in between the two. I gues you could call it a glab. LOL.
I make my tabs from cordovan leather -can't wear them out - just lose 'em like this year at Denton Hill ! Hope someone found it and put it to use. Too cheap to buy a glove and too lazy or unskilled to make one. It's a "push" which is more accurate.
Tabs fit over a wool glove in cold weather hunting or 3D events. The main reason I don't use a glove is I'm a sweat-hog and the leather gloves seem to all rot out in about a year! (Yeah I know try a composite or synthetic!)
Tabs are my choice even for a three under shooter. ><>
I used fingerstalls/gloves for years but went to a tab. I seem to do better with the tab for whatever reason - possibly the "Kant Pinch" spacer mine have.
My hands sweat a good bit and my american leathers big shot is fine.
I like to feel my actual finger tip on my tooth, thats the reason I shoot tabs. Plus I dont have a bunch of 2 fingered gloves laying around anymore!
I used to use a tab and actually like them better.
The problem I have is hunting with one.
The glove is always on and ready to go.
I believe you get a cleaner, smoother release with a tab. Shooting split fingered, the bottom two fingers will always come off the string together. The same will happen when shooting three under only the tab will make all three fingers come off at the exact same time. That being said,I usually shoot a cordovan tab but occasionally still use a glove when hunting.
I tried them both and I feel that I shoot better with a tab.
Makes no difference to me. I can miss with both just fine. I like to hunt with a tab so that I have my hand free. I've roughed up some gloves climbing out of stands when I forget to take them off.
