I think I may be an addict, I was just going over my notes and since October 1st I have hunted a total of 56 days as of today! Primarily here in IL but I have spent some time over in IN as well. (three of those days were with a firearm).
Strangely enough I still am not burned out. I have been at this stuff for close to 30 years now and can not get enough. Thank god for understanding wives, kids and family.
There is still around 45 days of deer season left here and I am sure I will be out many more days. Why? Well I don't know to be honest my freezers in great shape with 4 deer in it. But there's just something inside me that screams get out there every day! I have no plans on shooting any more deer but love to be in the stand just observing the deer, turkeys and what not.
last year I hunted a total of 101 days, thats deer, turkey and small game combined. and spent many more days scouting, shed hunting, and just wondering around. I have a feeling this years total will be even higher when all is said and done.
Am I an addict? probably, but there's much worse things one could be addicted to I guess.
I mot sure why I am posting this just rambling I guess. besides I bet I am not the only woods addict on this site!
Seems like I'm in the outdoors, thinking about being in the outdoors, shooting my bow in my backyard so I'm ready to be in the outdoors, or perusing TG and reading about other people's good times in the outdoorsl I can relate! Hey, it keeps me out of the bars.
And I was worried I was addicteded.....looks I am just normal :goldtooth:
YES, you are. And that is not just fine but a good thing!
:clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Thats a great addiction (see note below). I think mine has rubbed off on the wife kids and grandkids after they seen my enjoyment and they are now outdoor enthusiasts.
NOTE: As long as the wife does not say maybe I should put on a deer, elk, bear or whatever hide and or turkey feathers so that I get as much attention as the animals, it is all good.

There isn't a moment that goes by that I'm not thinking of being in the outdoors either hunting, fishing, shooting my bow or just taking a walk but there are times when I need to be realistic & do some activities indoors like shooting my bow, planning for my next outdoor adventure & sleeping so that I can dream about the outdoors.
I'm 73 and I still hunt 70-80 days a year. I must be a addict.
Sorry to say there is no cure :bigsmyl:
I am with you pal  Checking my journal last night (and including my elk hunt in Sept) through this week I have 188 logged hunting hours. This is the lightest year ever as I have had major work issues interfering with my quest...next hear daggnabit I am gonna have twice that much in the tree and on the ground :banghead:
I'm with Centaur,This is our life.
I'm going today with no intentions of shooting anything. Well that is what I told myself... Aint it fun!
