Got one small Osage longbow finished for my 6yr. old nephew, starting work on one for my 8yr. old nephew..........Christmans presents.......and figured on getting some traps out. Beaver, muskrat, coon, mink, and maybe a few coyote sets.
Run sets in the morning, hunt my clover food plot in the evening. The deer are just now starting to come back to it after the acorn bonanza we had this year. They sure oughta be nice a fat now after gorging on acorns for nearly 3 months!
Oh and......I know all too well about Broke! I can't afford to pay attention.......What?? :goldtooth:
Sorry to hear about your mother's condition. My wife works with alzheimers patients..very sad. But to answer your question....i'll be dodging lead bullets getting blasted at anything that has brown fur while i'm trying to bowhunt!!!
sound good! GUYS ...SO WHATS UR WEEKEND LOOKIN LIKE? :coffee:
got a new to me longbow(big jim thunder child) this week and this weekend im goin to try my luck in getting a doe with it! brad
Hopefully I'll hit the woods for a bit on Saturday with the gun guys. During gun season (which it is here), I take my bow and camp out on escape routes - let the gun bearers drive them around.
bow season is closed here:(
I'm waiting on my new Shrew that should be shipped this next week. I've got a few deer hides salted that I need to take care of, cut and split some more wood to keep the bones warm this winter. Then have a few things around the house to get done.
I hope to squeeze in a few hours of hunting along with everything else, looks like we are to get 3 to 5" of snow this weekend.
Bow hunting or Sauger fishing, can't decide.
Sauger??? cool
Heading to the cabin in an hour to celebrate my birthday and hunt with my two brothers for 1st week of late bow season.
building two loft beds for my kids for christmas and hunting a new spot i just found.
We are getting a cold front through here so I'll go hunting for sure this weekend. Hunting after a cold snap is as good as hunting the rut down here.
Kudos to you for taking care of your Mother! You come across as having a very positive outlook on life and that is a blessing indeed!
My wife's mother has Alzheimer's. Her Father takes care of her at home. He's had to get all kinds of equipment to help him handle her. We make the 200 mile round trip to help him out about every 10 days.
I'm fortunate this weekend. I'm expecting a set of Bear TD limbs and a Super Wildcat that I ordered about 9 months ago.
Gun season opens this weekend, so I'm on patrol. You know some of these guys are just going to get lost. :dunno: They seem to make the same mistake every year
We have a charity shoot at our local range, Cost of admission - ten cans of food. Just a fun shoot.
Bowhunt/work/bowhunt....repeat!
I'll be covered with dust. Two rooms with new walls and tons of mud to be sanded. All this after I get home from work. Big fun.
I know that feeling , goodluck!
There's a blacktail buck that needs my undivided attention! I plan on sneaking up a ridge line and doing some soft rattling and doe bleats...hopefully that day I'll also be doing a lot of packing meat!
I'm excited...my son might be going hunting with me for the first time since he really wants to go!
He'll be 7 on the 27th so it's time! I haven't pushed him to go but he asked this year...even if it's for an hour I'll be on cloud 9!!!
Josh
Firearms season ends Sunday with 10 more days of archery to follow so I think I'll feed the woodstove and watch some football this weekend!
I think I'll take my 4 year old daughter out duck hunting. It should be steady action and she has repeatedly told me how excited she is.
Honey do list and tanning hides saturday and sunday. Going calling on monday.
Smokepole opener tommorrow.Got a doe tag to hopefully fill then up to the national forest for some big woods tracking...Hopefully we can get about 4-6 of new snow.
To the woods in the a.m. since our second archery only season has started; then back in time for the 4pm SEC Championship game......go Gamecocks.
Long weekend for me. Took a bad fall Wednesday morning while running with my dog. Thought I had broken my collar bone. Luckily, it turned out to be a badly sprained AC, a knot over my right eye and two brused knees. i've always been pretty good at falling without injury, but having a 100 lb dog tied to one hand threw everything off. Hope it won't be too long before I can resume shooting...
Waterfowl hunting
back in the woods trying to fill my tag in oregon.
MUCH SNOW
hey waknstak, i cant imagine not bein able to hunt with my bow during "other" seasons aka boomstick. i would move. here in nc you can legaly use your bow during other seasons.the only thing i want to hear in the woods is the soft thump of my bow flingin an arrow. ruddy
I'm finishing up work tomorrow morning at 0700 hours. Then after church helping extended family bring up the Christmas tree from their basement. Then I imagine I'll be outside with my two kids and two nephews sledding. My two nephews lost their dad last year this month on the 19th. Tryin' to help out my sister-in-law as much as possible this last year and give those boys (6 and 3 y.o.) some much needed attention. Stay safe hunters.
-Jeremy :coffee:
good for you , Jeremy! Have blessed weekend..mark#78
Forgot to say I'm also looking forward to seeing the Oregon Ducks football team beat the Oregon State Beavers and qualify for the National Championship!!!!
Its second gun season. Patrol property and work on some new arrows. Bow season is back Monday but man the temps look scary.
Arrows should be the fun part....
