Title: A different Elk Euro Mount
Post by: FerretWYO on December 01, 2010, 11:16:00 AM
Ignore the mess and tools    :archer:
My Dad and I made this base over Thanksgiving. I am very lucky and thankful to have a Dad that is talented and willing to teach.

That's pretty cool randy. And would work well for those of us who don't have ten foot walls to hang one.

Nice buddy!

I love your room dude, bows, arrows, antlers, a demmel tool and box, and a teddy bear...what more could a guy ask for     :clapper:

Nice job. How tippy is it? My kid got a nice bull this year, I'm not sure what he's planning on doing with it, but I'll forward this to him so he has another idea.

I did floor pedestals a couple years ago for a couple big caribou.  Works well in spots where you have plenty of floor space but not so much wall space or low vaulted ceilings.

Looks good Randy.  Who did the "bleach" job?  Think it would take a lot smaller unit to mount the pigs we shoot next month.  Ha

Take care, see ya in Jan for the Triple Crown.

That looks good, Randy. Not that I've ever shot an elk that big, but I have wondered what kind of a mount would work if I should. I like that idea.

Boy I hope nobody trips around that!  You may have to build a guardrail too.

Randy, that looks great. Do you think it could be modified for a traditional shoulder mount? I have a great mount hanging at the local sport shop but I might be able to get it in the house with a base like that!

Gene I did the cleaning and bleaching myself.

Mike I think that it could be set up to hold a mount really easy. I have an elk that is on pedestal.

My raghorns fit fine on the wall.  I will keep that design in mind in the event I ever luck into one that big.  That is quite a bull and your mounts displays it very well.  Congrats.
