I've found traditional bowhunters to be somewhat rare in Alabama, at least nearby. Lately though I notice a lot more Trad Gangers with AL locations. Lets pull a roll call and see whos out there.

I know of several others that haven't posted, there's a lot more than you think.
Good to see and meet (sorta) you guys. I used to go to shoots at Tanehill years ago but I guess of late, I've just kinda holed up over here in Calhoun County doing my own thing. I will make it a point to get over to the spring shoot and the Howard Hill shoot for sure this year and socialize and mingle and hope to meet more of you.
Where are the Tanehill and Howard Hill shoots? Im dying to go to one but are any around where I live (Calhoun County). I'd also like to meet a few trad archers
Dwill - there are several shoots throughout the year at Tannehill State Park which is just SW of Bham - not too far from Bessimer. I plan on making a couple of the shoots so we should stay in touch about that. I think the first one is the "pre-spring Fling" the last weekend of February.

I may try and tag along with you..I'll give ya some gas money!! ;)
I understand this is now a "zombie thread" (brought back from the dead) but I'd like to get out and meet fellow trad shooters so I'll just bump it up, I didn't see this thread in the Alabama state forum, perhaps it should be sent there. Until then, I'll just tack my own name and location on it. To all those not in Alabama, sorry to drag up and oldy.

Lol at John... UAB doesn't count for football.
On a different note John and I worked a ton on stand setups this weekend and tho we live in Bama we hunt just across the line north of Pcola in Florida. We're pretty much hunting out of ground blinds this year tho I have 1 tree stand. Anyone else doing the same
I am ground blind only as well. I have a climber in an old spot on Benning but I have had some luck with my ghillie, stool, and some clippers. I keep meaning to make larger brush blinds but I know that soon as I do they'll close that piece of land so I just make small ones to break up my shape. Im actually liking the ground for its mobility and simplicity. I may be hooked!
Nathan Purvis, Hanceville,AL
Sapcut, I went to JD in 99 and 2002. I think I'm the only person to go to a two year school for 4 years. LOL. Nice to meet ya.
arrowlauncherdj, I sometimes hunt at Conecuh National Forest. It's just north of the Florida line. I live about 60 miles North of Pcola.
I live in Florida now ,but my heart is still in Bama
Ken, west of Florence, Lauderdale County.
Oh, and... ROLL TIDE!
Firefighter...I hunted a few times in '86 with a fireman in East Brewton...Joey Shell. Know him?
I remember Brewton had like more millionaires than most any small town in Alabama and I saw more homeless bums than ever.
Not an Alabama resident but I am an AUBURN WAR DAMN EAGLE (1971)! Several guys have asked about the Howard Hill shoot at Tannehill, so as you guys get acquainted, be sure to inform them about this event, It is a good one.

Hi Lee. our group around here hasn't gotten together to shoot in a good while, but there are a few of us around. maybe we can get in touch when it cools off a little. check the Alabama group for some others of us.
Hey johnnyk71, thanks for the heads up. Maybe see you around.
Hey there Sapcut. We will probably have a small shoot on that same farm in February, and it would be good to have you come over. Also, do you go to the Howard Hill shoot at Tannehill? That is a great shoot.
