A few Hoosiers are getting together on New Year's Day for a hunt and gathering at the Knob Lake Campground in the Jackson-Washingtn State Forest near Brownstown, IN. This is the same place we hold the Southern Indiana Bowhunt every October. All are welcome. Some are arriving on Friday and some on Saturday. Camping is $5. There's a big shelterhouse with a fireplace and we'll cook and drink and tell lies late into the night on Saturday night. Word is that Sticks-n-strings is bringing his new cabin tent. Email or PM for further info.

Ring in the New Year and ring out the bow season with us. I have at least 4 "fer sure's" and a couple "mebbes".
fer sher or is that fur shirt
either way it'll be fun :knothead: :wavey:
Friday's warm but rainy. Saturday and Sunday are cold but clear. Pick yer poison. Personally I have a creek bottom all picked out to still hunt up. I know exactly where they are feeding on the piles of acorns left behind by the massive mast year we had. I also know of a couple really nice saddles if someone wants to sit them. Guaranteed deer sightings :)
Hey, I wanted to hunt that creek...But, that other one is good too!!
Just gotta figure out where the acorn carpet is still plush....sure there are not many left; but there are plenty of hidey holes for everyone!!!
That sounds great. I just talked to Billy and I will try to make it.
There are a lot of acorns left and the deer are still hammering them. I have GPS coordinates.
Bona, no try...DO!
Here's the fer sures:
Billy
Brent
Chris
John
Mebbes:
-Bona
-my brother Mike (looks like me only taller and a couple years younger)
-a friend from work Rick (compound shooter)
-a friend from the Bowsite Russ(another wheelie wimp)
-a Seymour fireman named David (just Sunday for a quick visit)
What are we cookin' Saturday night? I like meat.
TTT...in case anyone cares to join us.
John:
Ya all go get em.... great way to start the new year
Hopefully John hasn't scarfed all the acorns...OH wait... that was me; that brought a ziploc full of 'pinballs' home... :bigsmyl:
Wish I could make it guys, but my sis-n-law decided to get married on new years eve! So while you all are out haveing fun flinging arra's at critters I gotta get all dressed up and hang in the city...........I'm Jealous!
I'm running PowerPoint for a friend's wedding New Year's day.
Again, you guys are going to be about 2 miles from where I go every two weeks or so across from the Jackson County Fairgrounds. In fact, my father-in-laws farm abutts Jackson/Washington State Forest. He has a persimmon grove at the bottom of the pond next to the woods that has been the death of many does!
Dang it....that persimmon info woulda been good in October.. :D
All the "fer sures" and Mike made it .. was gettin a bit chilly when I had to leave last evening.
Few tree rats fired upon and lots of deer sign !!! .. and now we await the rest of the story....... :campfire: :coffee:
