Title: Southern Indiana New Year's Day Hunt
Post by: John Scifres on November 30, 2010, 11:27:00 AM
A few Hoosiers are getting together on New Year's Day for a hunt and gathering at the Knob Lake Campground in the Jackson-Washingtn State Forest near Brownstown, IN.  This is the same place we hold the Southern Indiana Bowhunt every October.  All are welcome.  Some are arriving on Friday and some on Saturday.  Camping is $5.  There's a big shelterhouse with a fireplace and we'll cook and drink and tell lies late into the night on Saturday night.  Word is that Sticks-n-strings is bringing his new cabin tent. Email or PM for further info.

Friday's warm but rainy.  Saturday and Sunday are cold but clear.  Pick yer poison.  Personally I have a creek bottom all picked out to still hunt up.  I know exactly where they are feeding on the piles of acorns left behind by the massive mast year we had.  I also know of a couple really nice saddles if someone wants to sit them.  Guaranteed deer sightings  :)

Hey, I wanted to hunt that creek...But, that other one is good too!!

Just gotta figure out where the acorn carpet is still plush....sure there are not many left; but there are plenty of hidey holes for everyone!!!

John

Mebbes:
-Bona

-my brother Mike  (looks like me only taller and a couple years younger)

-a Seymour fireman named David (just Sunday for a quick visit)

What are we cookin' Saturday night?  I like meat.

I'm running PowerPoint for a friend's wedding New Year's day.

Again, you guys are going to be about 2 miles from where I go every two weeks or so across from the Jackson County Fairgrounds. In fact, my father-in-laws farm abutts Jackson/Washington State Forest. He has a persimmon grove at the bottom of the pond next to the woods that has been the death of many does!
