Well it was only 15 degrees getting in the woods this morning. I like to get in at least a half an hour before pink light. As I was settling in I could here deer around me. This is also the last day before are gun season opens here in Ohio, so I wanted to make good on any opportunity I had for some more freezer meat. So as soon as it started to get light I could make out some deer heading my way at about 7:05a.m.. A string of does and yearlings were coming my way. There was frost and ice crystals on all the tops of their backs. As they went by I tried to pick one of the mature does. One good size doe stepped into one of my shooting lanes at a whopping five yards. I picked a spot and loosed an arrow. She took two bounds and just stood there for about twenty seconds or so. I was almost thinking my eyes were deceiving me but I could hear the blood pouring out of her. She then fell over while the other deer feed and walked by. I sat down to soak it all in, the sunrise, the fresh cool air, and the wonderful gift of nature. I'll have some pics to follow. :campfire:
Congrats, i gave it my last try this evening didnt work out for me.
Congratulations!
Nice!!! That arrow must have really "zipped" through her. Congrats on closing the season with her. Tell us about the set up?...Ryan

The bow was a 60"57#@28. Kinda mad that my broadhead took on a little damage from hitting a rock after it blew through her.
(http://i747.photobucket.com/albums/xx116/Dirtybird_bucket/P1030060.jpg)I've been blessed with having many cloce encounters with some really nice bucks. I actually blew a pop shot earlier in the year on a very nice 8 pt. Shot right over his back from my on lack of concentration from not picking a spot. But this is my third doe this year and I am very pleased with the memories I have from another great season.
Cool! Three does...way to go. Congratulations.
congrats!!!
SWEET!
I'd like to hear the story behind the name on that bow...
Brian told me he was going to name my bow that at ETAR because I own a pizzeria. So that's how that one came about. But the funny thing is when I look at this bow it just seems to fit. The veneers are something to be seen in person, the pics don't do them any justice. You going to be at K-zoo Steve? I hope all is well and you get to out some and hunt.
:clapper: for some reason I had visions of the Golden Arches! Yes I will be at Kzoo at the Sitka Gear booth, look forward to seeing you.
Nice job, Dave. Or should I say Grizzly Adams?
Sweet vest too!!
I know Pat, this thing getting pretty thick. How's your new home and season going for you?
Hey Ryan if it gets any colder I might have to have your buddy make me one of those home brew body suits.
