Looking for a good NON BULKY and WARM jacket to wear when sitting on the treestand.
-
Predator Fleece very warm quiet and has a wind break layer

I switched to this product this year for our moose hunt.
Cabela's Microtex™ Insulated Hooded Jacket
I can't say enough good about how well it worked.
Windproof, quiet and warm. A great outer layer.

I'm on to Sika Gear just this year. So many variations, great pattern, and the attention to details such as zippers, pockets, ties and cinches. I'm retiring a lot of old stuff. The stuff is salty but very good deals can be found.
I take care of my hunting clothing. I have items that I bought more than 15 years ago that are still in top shape.
A bull and barb-wire fence once conspired to cost me a nice set of bibs though (not Sika) -- that big dark shape came alive in the moonlight!

Anything with wool/blend and "Windshear" in it. You pick the color and style! My Cabelas brand works scary good. I was so used to bulking up that I was nervous the first time I went out and could feel my upper body having movement, I thought for sure I would freeze, I didnt.

I like the cabelas wooltimate windshear jacket, blocks the wind good and it is quiet.

I agree. I'd also add that the deer seem to look right through you when you wear it. I was surprised given the muted camo look. Then again deer can be hard to see and they have rather muted camo as well. :D

I just got a Cabelas over/under wool sweater with the windshear. Its warm and is graet for layering. Is not bulky in the arms.

Yesterday I ordered the Cabelas Wooltimate Jacket with a Windshear liner. Pretty good price out of the Bargain Cave. We'll see how it works out but everything I've read about them is very positive.

I bought the Cabelas wooltimate jacket with windshear 3 years ago very warm, quiet and not a lot of bulk. Very happy with it. I'll also second what other have said about the camo pattern. It looks kinda drab but works very well in the winter woods.

The Kelvin Jacket in the Sitka Gear line is awesome. Kind of has the appearance of down, but not as bulky and is it warm! Filled with PrimaLoft. My hunting partner can wear some of my clothing as outer layers when it's cold (she's smaller than I am), and this is the garment I just about have given up getting back from her after the season's over. She also does not handle the cold well, but this jacket makes it quite bearable.

I too have excellent luck with the Sitka Gear system, the Stratus and Kelvin jacket, not bulky and very light weight, oh yeah very warm also!
-
Bryce, can you wear the Kevin Jacket as an outer shell or is it to be covered over with another jacket like the 90%?

narrowed my choices down to the gray wolf predator fleece or the cabelas wootlimate..help me decide! Thinking im going with the cabelas product due to all the positive reviews on here

I have a Cabelas wooltimate windshear vest and it is very warm. I do not need the jacket with sleeves in Louisiana. When it gets super cold I wear a cheap fleece pullover under the vest and layer underneath that.
I love the vest - it has plenty of pockets and I love the outfitters camo pattern. I would bet the jacket is very warm indeed. I hunt out of a canoe a lot, so I do not have much trouble staying warm on the way in, and that is why I opted for the vest.

Gray Wolf makes awesome stuff.

I wood suggest the Longhunter pull over shirt from La Clair it is wool and covers past your butt(so no wind on the lower back like coats that pull up when sitting) not bulky and very warm(can add layers as well).I have a heavyweight and thats all I wear in the cold temps.Very quite also.Check it out!
