It's funny how one can change his outlook on life. I've been away from archery due to not having the best of health the past few years (much better now)and, now that I am feeling better, have decided to spend a few bucks and purchase a couple of bows that I have always admired. The first decision was to get a Blacktail and my second decision is to get a Marriah Thermal. I have admired Ric's bows from afar for quite awhile but have never shot one and don't know anyone who owns one. Can any of you who own a Thermal let me know your thoughts on it? I only saw one recently listed in classifieds here so figure that no one wants to let them go or no one is buying them?? I would appreciate your thoughts very much.

I've got a 62" 55@28 Thermal and it is a shooter.I like it.Solid cocobolo riser and yew veneers with antler tips.It is a great bow and with the solid coco riser it is one hefty bow.Very stable.I put a skinny Ultra cam string on mine it got great results.If you like the hefty TD curves like Schafers and Widows you'll love a Thermal.

I love mine. I had to wait over 2 years after ordering but it was worth it.
I own three Thermals and have had one since 1996. I recently sent one of the risers to Mike Mecredy at Maddog Archery to have a set of longbow limbs made for it. I like the Thermal riser, just wanted a take-down longbow without having to buy another one. Maybe someday Ric will make a 3 piece take-down longbow.
This is my Thermal, I picked it up off the classifieds here. She has a wenge & zebrawood riser and elm limbs, another set of limbs i have for it have stained curly maple, elk antler on the riser and limb tips, its a 2008 model. Nice shooting bow.

Great shooting bow, stable, quiet...and very well made. The only reason I sold mine was that I just don't like large risered bows.....but please, that just a personal preference.....Ric's bows have all pros and no cons.

I own a Marriah Thermal, 2001 model, great shooting bow, very smooth, fast, and one of the quietest bows i own. Ric is really good to deal with. I was thinking about buying another set of limbs. Is a 2 year wait standard now?

They are also very reasonably priced. You probably will have to wait a while for one but if you are not in a rush I think they're worth it. Good guy to deal with too. Good Luck, Greg
