Hey guys,
Been looking to try a Cordovan tab, and I've narrowed it down into three tabs. Could I please have some help deciding?
1) ABS supertab. Looks like a great tab. "I" think it's overpriced. (is it worth it though?)
2.) Bateman tab. Another highly recommended one.
3.) Last but but not least "screaming eagle" Cordovan tab. looks similar to the ABS supertab. Would like to know if anyone has both for a side by side comparison.
Thanks,
-Richard.
I think Cordovan is over rated.
I love my Bateman Cordovan tabs.
I try to keep two of them on me at all times. I even get a little panicky if I can't put my hands on both of them..lol
The more I use them the better they get.
God bless,Mudd
I agree Mudd ,been using them for about 10 years now . The more I shoot them the better they get .
Jerry-If you think Cordovan over rated - what do you like? I am in market to make some . What leather would you all use? Do NOT WANT HAIR face.
Tried them all you mentioned. Prefer "screaming eagle" Cordovan tab.
Beats my sealskin tabs all hollow!

Same here.
I voted for the Bateman cause it is the best one of the 3, however the best cordovan tab in my opinion is the Black Widow cordovan tab. I know, you narrow it down to 3 choices and some knucklehead picks one that isn't one of the choices :>)! But the really are the best! HeeHee!!
Bateman cordovan!
Bateman cordvan
Been shooting the same Bateman cordovan tab for the last 5 years.
I prefer a Danner myself,yep that's right a Danner.
Made one out of the tongue of my boots that were shot. It made a real nice tab.
Good Shooting,
Craig
Bateman, I have one that is going on 4 years old and perfect.
I have 2 broken in back ups, and 2 in the packaging. That will more than likley be my lifetime supply.
Cavalier Elite cordovan for me, split finger tab but I shoot it 3 under.
i also think cordovan (horse hide) is over rated. for decades i've been using home made tabs outta thin, chromed latigo scraps from making quivers ...

Bateman for me. Been using a Bateman tab for decades.
Bateman, no spacers, no elastic. I spent 2 hours looking for one I lost yesterday. Found it!
I have the ABS and the Bateman prefer the Bateman and like a medium which is smaller than I normally shoot
Bateman without the spacer.
None I make my own.
I'm not sure if the tabs you're looking for have spacers or not, but I love my Eichler cordovan tab from 3Rivers. I've tried a lot, but this is the one I've settled on.
I've been shooting a Screaming eagle tab since the Dwarf owned the company. they are tuff..
The poll results speak for themselves...BATEMAN!
Black widow split-finger cordovan tab!
As a write in vote, EFA cordovan and calf hair. They just aren't well known yet.

screaming eagle cordovan tabs get my vote. i have 3 of them and i'm sure they will last the rest of my life!!
Heck "2fletch" you keeping those tabs a secret. Love your quivers, didn't know you were making tabs. Bateman Cordovan with spacer is my tab of choice and has been for several years. I find the tab to be a very personal item. Find one you like and stick with it. Course now I'm going to have to try an EFA. Go figure. :campfire:
I have been using the Cordovan tab from Alaska Bowhunting Supply now for about 6 years. I bought two just in case one wore out or got lost. I'm still using the first one. It's thin & flexable without allowing your fingers to get sore.
The second one is still in reserve. I think between the two I'll get another few years out of these tabs. I like them. I don't think they are over rated, others do. They give a silky smooth release.

Bateman cordovan 3 under tab. Gets better each time I use it......Randy
