Will Camo tape, limb skinz, etc. affect the finish on bows if you decide to take it off? Will it leave a sticky residue or discolor the finish? Getting a new bow soon and was thinkin bout camoin it just for turkey season.
Thanks in advance, I really appreciate all the helpful advice and great attitudes that are on tradgang! God Bless you all!
If you are concerned get the limb socks instead.
Was thinkin bout that..but liked the camo tape better..seem like the sock would slide down, but I may find a way to tie it up or something
I used camo tape on a shotgun barrel once for turkey hunting. Had a heck of a time getting it off after it had been wet. Never will I do that again.
Get limb skins, not limb socks. They stay up well.
Limbskins come off clean and easy; I have done it.
Check out the Limbstations sold by Onestringer. Those should remove with no problems. But I would stay away from camo tapes. Some of them bond to the finish that they can become almost impossible to remove. There might be some that would work fine, but I don't know how to tell the difference.
The Limbskin socks that slip on work great and grip tight - no slipping down the limb. The one downside I have found with them is if they get wet it takes some time to dry them out and I really don't like moisture on my limbs any longer than necessary. So I have taken to unstringing my bow and taking the Limbskins off whenever they get wet.
camo tape works well. i like the apg hardwoods. sticks good, peels right off with no residue if you change your mind.
Dont know yet..but limbskinz sound pretty good! Im gettin a new bow soon and just want them for a little protection whenever I go hunting
