Will taking my Selway slide on quiver off my bow make the arrow act weak or stiff?
Good Question......
Try it and see and let us know. :) You should know as soon as you shoot a couple of arrows. My strap-on doesn't seem to have an effect (affect?) on the spine but does make the bow more stable in my hand.
Well, my groups are a lil better, but I'm hitting right about 2-3". Unfletched shaft hitting in the middle of the group.
If you are right handed and that is a consistent result, they are showing a little weak. If you are going to use the quiver on that bow every time, you could make the sideplate just a little thicker. That should bring your groups back to where you want them.
Thanks Randy!
Things that add weight to your limbs stiffen arrow spine, so removing the limb quiver should weaken your arrow spine a little.
Putting a quiver on can make the arrow shoot stiff, so taking it off should make it shoot weak. You may need a bit stiffer spine; not more than 5 lb. The difference is much more noticeable with light riser bows rather than heavy risers.
Make sure that the quiver mounts well into the riser fadeouts and not on the working limb.
