Im from northeast Alabama and am wantin to hunt some hogs. I know there are some in Talledega National Forest (which is bout 15 min from my house) but not many anymore and are hard to find...There is another national forest called William B. Bankhead NF and its bout 1 1/2 hours away and was wondering if anyone knew if there was some out there? I know there are some in Lowndes County which is south Alabama and we hunt there every year but for whitetail not hogs.
Check the Corps of Engineers land around the locks, dams and power houses. Different areas have different rules so check those also. Bill
Thanks..what part of Alabama are you located in ?
And anyone else?
Im in southern alabama in geneva, down here fort rucker has lots of pigs, there are also a bunch along the rivers.Check any military bases near you and see about their hunting policy and ask about pigs.
I live in central Alabama, but I have friends who hunt hogs at Bankhead religously. Thay have taken some nice pigs out there.
If you hunt Bankhead be prepared to climb some very steep hills.
I hunt Cottaquilla Mountain which is some crazy hills..so im not worried bout those, plus Im only 15 and an athelete.
But I'll be tryin out Bankhead and I guess I'll ask some ppl I see up there if they know where the hogs are unless someone can give me some directions to a good spot..I'll get a map btw
