who is working on plans for 2011. I have a bear hunt set up. Plan to hunt elk again
Shoot! I'm lucky to have tomorrow planned or at least I think I do.
But even that is apt to change because sometimes when I tell God my plans, He just laughs...lol
God bless,Mudd
:biglaugh: I have a pig hunt and maybe a trip out west, but I'm more inclined to agree with Mudd.Just gotta take it one day at a time!
I am always thinks months ahead, but not necessarily for hunting. I plan for every archery event I want to attend, always looking for new events too. This ear it wil depend on my healing time from a surgery coming up in about 2 weeks. But so far in 2011: Texas Shoot-out in Feb/Mar for javelina, maybe TBOF in Feb depending on date, Georgia in March, Kentucky Klassic and Tannehill in April, Tennessee Classic in May, Howard Hill and maybe Cloverdale in June, Denton Hill and maybe W. Va in July, Tannehill in August. Still looking for something in Sept, maybe back to Ohio to hunt for end of Sept. I would like to go to Colorado or Montana or Wyoming for a 3D just to see some of the country.
Going to Alaska, Kake isle to hunt GIANT black bears in the salmon streams and try for a moose. Its been awhile since my last trip somewhere.
There are four of us (all trad hunters) going to Eldons place (Hunters point guide service) in Maine the first week of September. I Can't wait to get there. what a quality hunt. this will be my fourth time with Eldon.
Lets see. Elk in CO. Mule Deer in CO. Moose and Caribou in AK. Etc Etc. Now which ones will actually fall into place.
Just confirmed a first ever antelope hunt in the panhandle of oklahoma for this coming September. If plans hold will be returning to south Texas in February for a Javelina trip. Always subject to change though.
got some 3D shoots planned and if the money-plans will go as i want ill be on my first ever bowhunt trip to Australia chasing Goats and Hogs

Wish me luck, ill need it.
Not really planning anything significant for 2011 but me and a buddy are planning an out west(wyoming, colorado, utah or nebraska) for 2012. With kids and our income we kinda have to plan that far ahead lol. Good luck to anyone else that does get to go somewhere hunting or just visiting. Happy thanksgiving and God bless.
Another Moose hunt somewhere.
Texas javies in Feb, put in for Wisconsin turkey in May a couple of days ago then still contemplating idaho elk for september. That should be a busy year.
I plan on attending some 3D events this coming year. I'd like to get in the traditional class and see how many arrows I can manage to lose. :knothead:
As far as hunting goes, it will just be more of the same as every year. Can't afford to hunt out of state, and Missouri has everything I need right here.
I would like to plan a DIY hog hunt somewhere, and I read that Mississippi is over run with hogs. They also have lots of CA ground set aside for out of state hunters and encourage people to come down and help out with the hog explosion they have down there. I plan to start scouring the internet for possibilities soon.
It would be nice if some Trad Gang members from a bordering state with lots of hogs might offer to let me come hunt on their place and stay in a nearby motel. With archery tackle, or whatever methods they see as befitting of course. hint...hint...hint  :bigsmyl:
BTW- I love to hunt with dogs, and don't get much of that anymore here in Missouri, unless it's rabbits. I miss the days of running coyote and fox with dogs back in the day when my grandpa and my uncles were around.
I'm still after a nice buck in KY and IN this year with about 3 more weeks to get it done. I'd probably kill lone more doe to boot.
I'm planning on turkey in Nebraska, turkey in Kentucky, and black bears in New Brunswick.
I want to head west next year for elk again. I have never killed an elk in three hunts. My last elk hunt was in 2006 and was interrupted by a nasty and expensive kidney stone.
I'm toying with Moose (never done it) and was leaning towards Newfoundland. Of course I couldn't do that and the elk hunt.
Midway through my 5th decade, I regret staying home during my 4th one.
I'm planning for January 2011...thats when our rut hits here in Alabama :archer2: :archer2:
YORNOC - I hunted Kake a couple years ago and had an awesome time. We hunted in the spring and saw plenty of BIG bears. There were 3 of us on the hunt and we all 3 killed good bears in one day. That was a FUN day!!!! And made for a bunch of fun the rest of the week, fishing, beachcombing, clamming, crabbing, etc.
Praying that Sept 2011 will not have my son in a war zone and instead in AZ hunting Elk with me.
Canyon,amen brother
Planned an Africa trip for this year. Canceled it till 2011 due to economy and my 25th anniversary. (Don't know how I forgot about that.)
Now it looks like we once again are putting it off until 2012 due to economy.
Planned to be in Kansas last week of Nov. and first week of Dec. this year, this too has been rescheduled.
Planned to be hunting for a week starting tomorrow on some private land 50 miles from the house. Received call from landowner this afternoon, He is closing the property to all that had permission to hunt it. Why? Some idiot head shot a spike yesterday with a 300 mag, then threw it on his hood and drove to landowners home to show it off! Landowner was repulsed by the site of the little spike missing most of its head. So we all lose because of 1 idiot!
But, I do have last 3 weeks of January scheduled to hunt 2 different areas of Alabama. Perhaps 2011 will fair better in the planning dept.
Have managed to take 3 pigs and 2 does so far this year. But these were all spur of the moment hunts. If they had been planned I'm sure something would have come along to change the plans!
Think I may fore go any more planning for 2011 and just go when the urge is upon me. Always seem to have more fun that way anyhow.
Scout,
That sounds like a road map of my retirement plans if I ever get there.
I don't really have any hunts set up for 2011 but I've got lots of shooting planned.
Australia to try the Buffalo and pigs.
Ppossibly a winter hog hunt somewhere warm, although my wife wants to go on a cruise. That ones still an ongoing debate.
September will be a month of chasing Colorado elk, October and November trips to Ohio for whitetails, and ifI can draw, Kansas.
The in between I fill with an obscene amount of walleye fishing and a little carp shooting.
Irish Archer.........I am sure I will see you at a few events in 2012. I have to get my knee replaced again in about 2 weeks. If there are no complications, I will be out there come spring.
I lost out on both Ohio and Michigan 2010 to job changes and a move, so I've had nothing to do but plan for 2011!
My primary focus has been a 9 day deer hunt in the UP (plus planning all the scouting trips leading up to it.)
I'm also trying to line up landowner permission on some feral pigs over by Jackson to hunt between now and then.

I hope so also Canyon. But a huge thank you to your son and all others and their families for their sacrifices.
So far I have planned out through 2011 and some of 2012, bear, elk, hogs and rabbit. Hopefully all works out.
Earl
I have Hogs at Ray Hammond's and a DIY elk hunt in Co all set up for next year. I can't wait.
9 months and 1 day until Colorados bow season starts. Last week I marked my calendar for a week off related to the dark of the moon. yes I've started planning..
I will be heading to Idaho in 2011 for an elk hunt with a friend of mine that lives out west. It will be a public land hunt with no guide.
I came into this year without a hunt planned at all, and so far to date, I have been on 9 different, and I mean different, hunts since Sep 15th. Each one has been an awesome memory, and as much as I would love to plan atleast a year in advance, and usually do, I just might start the next off the same way, and shoot from the hip. It hasn't been to productive if you figure putting meat in the freezer, but what I have learned and enjoyed this year is far better than putting meat in the freezer. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to score, but itwould only be icing on the cake. I would love to do a southern hog hunt, but time will only tell. Anyone down there need an overly excited northern boy to give them a good laugh, and awesome conversation?
Mike
Indiana public land next Novemeber
ETAR again definately..
Back to PA next year for a combo Bear/deer hunt..
Maybe I'll get my Moose tag next year for VT,if not I'm planning on hunting NY southern zone in Washington county.
Going back to North Dakota lifes too short to wait another three years.
Besides all the 3D shoots, Texas hogs in Feb, Colorado bear in Sep. Then back home to Iowa for some great whitetails. Bob
I mailed in the deposit for another antelope hunt just today!!!!!
I'm already gone for Idaho in May for turkeys. I'm going to try to hook that up with a bear hunt. It will depend on how long winter lasts.
My kids want to go to Kauai so I might give the goats and hogs a shot also...
We'll see? This all depends on what tags I draw for elk?
Turkey in kansas and hopefully elk in co. And of course a week in jan. Here in mo alone @ my farm
good luck Brad. See you in feb.
I'am going hog hunting in January(Hog Heaven),elk hunt in Colorado in September and Maybe a whitetail hunt in Ohio in November.Plus anything else local Ican get into.
Harry
