It's been a while since I've even browsed on here. I thought I would post some pics of my season so far. I haven't made it out during the deer season as much as I normally do but I was lucky enough to get a decent buck on Nov. 9th. It didn't go quite as planned as I hit him high and dropped him on the spot. I ended up taking a couple of follow up shots to finally kill him. It was a nice 12 yard shot but I had stopped him once behind a tree and he stared right at me. Then I stopped him again after a couple of steps and I took the shot. I think I rushed it and didn't quite pick a spot.
I also posted some pics from a bear hunt I went on in August in Ontario. It was a tough week of hunting. I saw one other bear after it was too dark to shoot and I ended up taking this little guy on the second to last day. Two years ago I went on my first bear hunt and got skunked - never saw a bear so I really didn't want to go home empty handed for a second time. I got lucky on him as well. I missed him the night before. I thought it was a perfect shot but it must have went right under him. He came back the next night and I sealed the deal. Five of us went on the hunt and three of the guys never saw a bear. The other guy shot one that was the same size as mine on the last night. I was happy and he tastes good!

Congratulations on a great season. Looks like you hit bone, I hate to see head damage that way. Did it stop or get complete penetration?
Thanks Hud. I hit the bottom of the spine and the arrow stopped right there. He went straight down.

About the Snuffer....I'm a huge fan of the 160 Snuffers, tough as heck!
But that Snuffer you're using looks like one of the severely trimmed down versions 100-125....They are just a skeleton of the real Snuffer.
They've taken so much meat off the blades that it realy comprimises the strength of the BH.
The 145's aren't bad, but the real "tuff guy" is the 160..

Way to go! When Ontario took away spring hunting the hunting got REAL tough, too much other food to savor for them. Thats a nice, thick Michigan deer.

You might check with Magnus, I think they have a lifetime guarantee.If they dint bend that blade back out.I did that on a deer and am still shooting that head after a slight repair.Congrats.

Thanks guys! I'm not worried about the Snuffer. It's a 125 grain and I wouldn't have expected any better on a spine hit like that. It's pretty wild how it bowed that blade in! I like Snuffers. They're pretty inexpensive compared to other heads and I'll buy some more. I might get the 160 as Guru suggests next time though!
