Or wondering outside with the hot dog cart .. Thinking of giving carbons another chance this Spring. I'm Shooting a #57 TIP non FF.
Either CX 250's or Gold Tip 55/75, 29 1/2 arrow. Regular aluminum insert with a Simmons 190 Interceptor. Does this sound close.
Any help comments are greatly appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving ..
Thank You,
Mike
I shoot a 58lb St Joe River longbow, 62" long with a FF string. I have shot the 55/75 at 28.5" and 275gr. on the front end. They flew very nice. However, I have switched to the Beman Bowhunter .400 and at 29.5" long and 275 upfront. I get almost perfect flight with a bare shaft.
For some reason I could not get the CE 250's to fly right???
Hope this helps

Try a 175 gr. point with the 250's or a 160 gr. point with the GT's. If 57#'s is what you're pulling these should put you real close.
Here's the link to the spine calculator if you want to put all your info in and play around with different set-ups.

Mike,
I shoot CX Heritage 250s with 190 Interceptors and they shoot great. I'm pulling 56# @ 28 inches.

Hi Doug,
That's close to me. I'm pulling 57 @ 28 just added the extra for clearance. Are you using the regular inserts that come with the CX Heritages ? And are you leaving the arrows a little long..
Thanks Doug
As noted, Stu's calculator has been very accurate for me with carbon arrows. I would run your numbers through that.
I just used stu's to set up heavy carbons for my Black Forest. Almost perfect flight! A little fine tuning and it will be all set.
Jamie,
I'm messing around with it now. Would you know the weight of the regular inserts that come with the CX 250 and nock weight ?
Thanks,
Mike
No, I cant recall. I tried looking it up but found zero. I think I have a 3R catalog around. Pretty sure it lists the weights. I want to say 23 grains for the insert and 12 for the nock...but that deosnt seem right either....
Im currently playing with beman 340's, 30.5". 100 grain insert with 125 tip. I am shooting 55@28, and draw 28. Sweet. I do still love my heritage though. Only four left from the dozen I bought.....3 years ago! Two deer, a bunny and TWO muzzy stump shoots later. Not to mention the JLMBH steel bunny.
