Hi,
I am thinking of buying a bow quiver but not sure which one to go for.
I use a Plains Indian style quiver at the moment it holds around 16 arrows.
The thing is I like to carry alot of arrows with me....Just in case Zombies turn up......
I would like to see what a bow quiver would be like and have seen some that hold 5 or 6 and also the Tred Barta 8 arrow one. Has anyone used that one? Is it very heavy on the bow?
Any help would be great.

I'm visting your fine country as I type this -- Hockwold Thetford--new grandson. I trained some archers in Milport yesterday to launch England's National Archery in the Schools Program.
I use bow quivers but I prefer to carry only 4 arrows -- 3 broadheads and 1 judo. My quivers are generally 5-6 arrows. I like Great Northerns. We abolished zombies in my neck-of-the-woods many years ago but from time an unruly dying leaf will blow through one of my shooting lanes and I sick the Judo on him!

The training of archery in schools sounds great.
I have a Great Northerns Fireball bow that I love at the moment that I am thinking of buying the bow quiver for.
As we cannot hunt with the bow here in the UK, I would use the quiver for 3D shoots or roving. That's why I was pushng for more arrows.
That's the thing with them Zombies you can never tell when one will turn up.....

Personally I like a small bow quiver like a skookum solo or double arrow and then carry the rest in a back quiver or side quiver.
Cromm my favorite is still the one I got from you.
I love my Hill style back quiver but what makes it for me is the writing you did on the bottom for me.
I happened to have acquired a few more so if you need one....(but not my personal favorite) let me know and we'll work something out.

I've tried most of the bowquivers out there and I keep coming back to Great Northern. I am especially fond of the one that is a quick-release for my takedown longbows and recurves. It is LIGHT and QUIET, grips the arrows tightly and it STAYS PUT. You can easily find replacement foam or grippers or whatever part wears out. I carry 3 broadheads and 2 rubber blunts in it, and if I think I need an extra arrow or 2 for a longer hunt those rubber "piggy back" arrow holders work well. IMHO it's as close to a perfect quiver as you will find. :thumbsup:
I have been using a Great Northern strap on quiver for about 10 years, and love it. It's great for sitting on stand, because you can take it off the bow when your just sitting there. I just became an owner of a used Selway bolt on quiver for my "new to me" RER longbow/recurve takedown. I can't comment on it as of yet, but I can already say for sitting on stand, it will not be as practical as the Great Northern, because I like a bare bow while sitting. If your doing spot and stalk, a bolt on has it's place.
I like to use one of our (EFA) bowquivers for hunting or 3-d. They are lightweight and very unobtrusive on a lightweight bow which I prefer. They are available in 3, 4, and 5 arrow models and many hood designs. For an extended hunt, extra arrows can be carried in another type quiver.

ive got a 6 arrow thunderhorn boa that ive only used once or twice (plain black hood ) your welcome to try it out ,do you belong to oakwood bowmen ? im going to be in norfolk over the xmas holiday ( brockdish ) if your about maybe we could meet up ? let me know mate .

I carried a Safari Tuff side quiver on my last hunt, or sometimes a possibles bag/quiver combo, kept my squirrel arrows in it. I also had an EFA four-arrow quiver on my bow, it is reliable and solid. Lightweight.
Any bow quiver is going to alter the balance of the bow, it won't carry the same as a bare bow. The EFA is the least obtrusive quiver that I have used, and it is very secure.

EFA is hard to beat for unobtrusive and lightweight, and if you can notice a difference in the way it makes your bow shoot you are way too sensitive. That said,if you shoot a lot like on a 3-d course it will move on you. I'd have to give the nod to Thunderhorn or Great Northern for secure mounting. EFA's are on my serious hunting bows. Great service and quality.
Thanks everyone for helping with the bow quivers. I will have a hard look at all the makes that have been said. So far the one I was thinking would be a winner, no one has or use it. The TB 8 arrow bow quiver.
