Title: Eberlestock X2 and bow quivers
Post by: recurvericky on November 22, 2010, 10:51:00 PM
What type of bow quiver works well with the Eberlestock X2 backpack? Pictures would be great.

Are you talking about a quiver that attaches to a bow when you refer to a "bow quiver"? Or do you have something else in mind? I have an X2 pack, but I have no idea what you want to do with the quiver and the pack.

You'll be best served with a one piece bow quiver like the Great Northern or other makes. I also use a custom Thunderhorn Sidewinder quiver which can be attached to my X2. Be sure the quiver you select has very sturdy grippers, and the foam head must be tight too...otherwise the possibility of lost or loose arrows.

I prefer the Sidewinder quiver from Thunderhorn because I can pop it off the pack and onto my belt/hip in about 30 seconds. No bow quiver will be quite as sturdy, or as quick to attach.

A fletch cover is recommended as well.

Are you looking for a quiver that can be strapped to the pack and then quickly attached to the bow?  The X2 has plenty of attachment points, so strapping on most quivers shouldn't be a problem.

I prefer a side quiver, and use an Arrowmaster for most of my hunting.  It rides very well with the pack on my back.  In fact, having the pack on actually makes the quiver a little more stable and it stays in place right where I want it.

I tried using my Arrowmaster with the X2, and unlike Whip, I found it uncomfortable. I ended up using a bow quiver while using the X2. I like the x2, and really love the Arrowmaster, but not together. Maybe Whip knows something that I don't!

Pat, I just leave my strap long enough that the quiver lays alongside the pack.  The pack seems to keep the top of the quiver from shifting around on my back - I kind of like that.  But like everything having to do with quivers, I'm sure it is a personal preference kind of thing.  Quivers and packs are the womens purses of the bowhunting world. Not a one of them is perfect for every occasion   ;)   :D

I plan on ordering the X2, but I was wondering what quiver works well with it. I presently have a bow quiver, was looking for something that I could carry extra arrows.

If you are talking extra arrows you could get the buttbucket and carry just about anything you wanted to

I got the buttbucket with mine. It works like a charm.
