Fixed up my first real batch of wood arrows, surewood and I love them. Shot them out of my Sky Eagle. I thought that bow was quiet, now with these arrows, super quiet. They flew great. Man I am a convert. They are truly worth the effort to put them together.
:archer: Any pics?
Nothing more trad than the wood arrow.
Douglas fir? I just called there today to get some heavy spined shafts.......this is good news.
I have always bought poc, but am looking forward to making my own. Thanks for posting.
Don't shoot anything but. Surewoods are great!
Surewoods are my favorite! Nothing like making wood arrows. Enjoy the addiction.
Keeping the Faith!

This is how the real addiction starts. Fun ain't they?

Oh yeah, it was so much fun going through all of the posts here on how to make them, what to use to finish. Made them real simple to start, no cresting or crown, but I know that will be done in the next batch.
To be fair, I really didn't know what to expect when it came to performance. And you know, they just feel right, like the bow knows they were made for her.
Just another addiction to enjoy.
I am now a wood convert myself I have done up prolly 3 doz so far! I love the way they look and shoot! They are lot more forgiving than the carbons I was shooting and they are quieter! So far I have not had any durbility issues with my woods, I have used Cedar and Chondoo pine! Want to try some Douglas fir next!
Good to hear you gave them a try LongStick. Surewoods are the best douglas fir shafts you will find! Made by Oregon boys with Oregon doug fir! They are both "straight-shooters"!!! haha I know what you mean about "they just feel right". Good stuff! Now the comes the ongoing adventure of more arrow building...that's good stuff too!
