I've been hunting and calling elk most of my life.  This next fall we are taking a couple of rookies with us and can't spend a lot to time getting them ready.  I started reviewing DVDs and stuff and found ElkNuts stuff.  It's the best instructional series I've ever seen or heard.  Not only is the calling very good but the reasoning behind the calls usually takes 10 years in the field to learn.

I guess I'd recommend them.

best way to actually learn i have found is to buy some calls and practice, practice, practice.some instruction in the beginning is good but you are still the one who's gotta make the elk come in.my huntin buddy carl must have watched the wayne carlton dvd's 50 times and he still couldnt call worth a damn.didnt practice to perfect his skills.i practice year round and i must admit i have it down.i cant say go with elknut because i have never seen his instructionals but he seems to be well liked.i can help you out if you want also,p.m me if i can be of any help.the way i started out was watching elk and listening to the different sounds they make and trying to figure out the different tones and meanings.there will be plenty of trial and error but every time you screw up you'll pocket a valuable lesson.
