Thank y'all for an outstanding site! 10 years ago, due to major life changes, I hard cased both my longbows, packed up my hunting and arrow making tools and set my hobby aside. About a month ago the traditional archery bug that started when I was 10 hit me again. Now that things have settled down in my life, I took out both my Hollenbeck D/R and my Great Plains Rio Bravo and strung them up...just to look at their beautiful wood lines. That was all it took.
That evening I found this site, have spent the last two weeks reading everything....literally. Y'all have given me new insite to return to building much better equipment with the build alongs, tips, pictures, and expertise unavailable 10 years ago....what a quantum jump! Your stories and pics have taken me from Texas to Africa and all over the U.S. Thanks for all you offer and share.
I've managed to get some arrows put together, retuned my bows, started to rebuild the dormant shooting muscles, and am starting a new work bench in the garage this weekend. What a great feeling again to be returning to my favorite past time.
Now I just need to find other folks in the central Texas area that have the same afliction. :biglaugh:
Welcome back! Texas has LOTS of representation on this site, Im sure you can find a buddy! Enjoy your refound hobby and keep a tight grip on it this time around.
