First three stands no takers fourth stand one hung up way out there.Fith stand, got in a dry ditch to the end of where an almond and olive orchards meet.Made a cuople of load screams with the howler then some rabbit screams. Waited a few minutes and started the rodent death cries with my squirrel call. Ten minutes into the stand I see movement between the row between the olives and almonds. It gets to the end goes behind a brush pile, pops out the left takes a few steps . The arrow is on its way hits just right off center. The coyote spins with one front leg in the air and biting at its chest goes about ten yards and piles up.About 18yard shot.
My ground blind small ditch.

We have lots of mainge ,our winters are not that cold so they can go a long time with almost no hair. Whats a good way to sterilize an arrow.

Way to go!

I saw five of them yesterday but none gave me a shot (one almost did at 25 yards). After deer season there's gonna be some coyoteing done in earnst. Last night at the house around 11:00PM it sounded like a dozen of them whooping it up in the general area of my stand.
Three years ago my neighbor killed 32 along the power line right-of-way that adjoins our properties. Looks like it's that time again.

You did that mangy dude a favor. Nice shooting.
-
sounds way cool. Congrats on the yote dog!!
I have only hunted coyotes a couple times with a bow, it is a blast. Usually I just "happen" to see them when chasing something else.
God Bless,
Nathan

I love to see those lying with an arrow through them! Nice setup, nice calling, nice shootin'! That's a great trophy with a longbow.
-
ya done good, it was a mercy kill for sure.
-
Thanks for the words . I have taken lots with my varmint rifles, but this bow stuff is a whole new ball game. Its realy hard to just wait for them to come in real close. Been out three times last week maybe 7- 10 stands a day called in maybe six but non where I could get a shot on them. Chasing these things is crazy fun. They got eyes ears and a nose that make deer look deaf and blind.
-
  Love to see them dead dogs!
-
Can you legally take a firearm with you as well as your bow?
Calling `yotes here in Michigan has gotten extremely tough because of how quickly they get educated to calls. Leaving a witness is bad.
Great job!!!
-
And you killed this coyote because??.......

out standing.... fire will sterilize that wooden arrow.

Mange is caused by a mite----They can transfer from the dog and burrow into your skin, but can't reproduce in humans. Just wash your arrow off with soap and water.
Good set up and execution.
