I harvested this nice 8 point Saturday afternoon (last day of PA season), hunted this stand 5 times and seen 4 legal buck. Hit a limb on a slightly bigger buck last Saturday, arrow deflected over his back, I was heartbroken. Slipped into the stand at about 2:30, at 4:00 I heard a loud grunt on the other side of a large creek. I grunted back and about a minute later heard a really loud grunt a lot closer. Again I grunted back, and just a few seconds later I seen this buck coming down to the creek. When he entered the creek to cross he started to head upstream and away from me. I grunted again, he stormed through the creek up the bank and straight to me. When he was about 15 yards away, he stuck his nose in the air and was smelling the scent rag I put out.
As he was doing this he was looking right at me. I don't think he made me, but I had to wait for him to turn to shoot. Cause of the way he came in, I had to shoot in a awkward position, as he turned broadside and I drew the bow, at a bout 3/4 quarter draw my right elbow hit a big limb on the tree I was in. The string slipped off my fingers prematurely, I hit him further back than I had hoped. When he left he looked hurt bad. Waited 1 hour and snuck out to my truck and up to get my brother who was turkey hunting. He asked me how I did and I said I had a nice one hit. He said should we go back in the morning, and I said yes it was not a perfect hit, but the deer looked hurt bad.
We slipped back in the morning, found the blood trail and followed it for about 75 yards and jumped him on the edge of a golden rod field. He only went 35 yards and went back down, we decided to back out and come back 4 hours later. We found him dead were we last seen him. I went from being very frustrated and down on myself, to being high on life. This is my first buck with my new black widow PCH. The arrow actually went through his intestines into the back leg shattering the femur. He only went 120 yards total. Thank god for woodsman broadheads! My prayers were answered that I would find this buck. He is my best deer ever! Pics were took in my yard at home cause buck was recovered the following day and our season was over. Talk about a last hour buck! Enjoy! TD

Excellent buck, and excellent job on the recovery!
I would like to congratulate (Tim Dougan), my brother, on taking his biggest buck ever this bow season. The fact that he took this buck with his Black Widow Recurve made it very special. You see my brother is a die-hard traditionalist. He makes up his own arrows, sharpens his own broadheads and loves traditional archery. I'm so lucky to have a hunting partner who has the same passion and love for bowhunting as I do. Congrats again Bro! KEEP EM FALLING!
Your Brother
Tom
