The wind was finally right to hunt this stand, I had several photo's of a buck that I had hoped to cross paths with. I had been waiting patiently for a crack at him and within 30 seconds it almost all came together.
At 10:05 this morning I had this buck come by my stand and my shot was LOW!!!! Thankfully it was a clean miss but my Silvertip had a record of 5-0, I was confident in my set up. Maybe it was the 300 grains of weight up front--But I practiced w/300 grain field points all summer. Who knows!!! I can say this--I was content just to watch him walk off, unscathed with the thought we may meet again!

Aw man, what a nice buck! I know it's tough but you're right, a clean miss is better than a bad hit and lost animal. I had one myself the other day and more, I'm sure, before I'm done.
Hold your head high brother. I don't know if I could get my bow pulled back if I had a chance at a deer as nice as that.
That's one of the things I love about hunting trad. When we miss we are honest about it and we don't make excuses and we leave the woods just as content knowing that it was good enough to be there.
Hope you meet up with him again.
Stiks
Hunting deer is one thing and hunting a particular buck is a much different game.
Just note that you are doing well thus far with respect to hunting a particular buck.
Keep the faith!!
Stay with it. If he was there today he'll be back........
Good luck
Like I said to a friend who missed low on a buck this morning... that's the second-best possible outcome for a shot at a deer!
Nice buck! Hang in there bud you still have a lot of season to go! Good luck an let me know if you get him!
atleast he's not spooked he walked off that's a plus what a beautiful buck but in my opion everything happens for a reason who knows tonite you may kill a world record LOL but good luck I'm sure your paths will cross again
Beautiful Deer! I agree with "Hawkeye"....a clean miss is the second best possible outcome.
Hopefully he makes it through the Michigan gun season (700,000 hunters in the woods)!
chris <><
that buck is a beauty kevin! unforunately i know how you feel, been there.. i'm sure you will be patient and get another chance though.
Thanks fellas! Our gun opener opens tomorrow, but I will be on stand with my trusty Silvertip curve and my Kimber 10mm for those outside of 25 yard shots :scared:
