Able to shave with it? When it runs through your hand with ease? Phil

Hard toe boots. If it hurts it's sharp enough.   :biglaugh:  Sorry just had to say it. I cut paper same for my knives.

I wouldn't want to admit it if I was new to the game, but I have never, ever been able to shave hair off my arm (the industry standard). But, the rubber bands melt, and the animals die.

I wonder, if I got some shaving cream and warm water, would it help?

I test for dullness rather. If it feels dull I sharpen it until doesnt feel dull anymore. I dont think all my blades are at the same sharpness level, but none are dull. Sounds goofy, but thats me!

When I got my flu shot the guy asked if I shaved that spot for the shot. He got a good chuckle when I told him how it gets shaved. Yes, shaves dry hair.

I am a lefty so my right calf and right forearm are bald from Sept till Jan. I shoot 3 blades and have no problem sharpening them with files and leather strop. However, I never was able to get a 2 blade or knife as sharp as I really liked. Yes, they would shave but not the full length of the blade sometimes and also took me lots of time.

Recently Robtattoo was nice enough to let me borrow his KME knife sharpener and I now know what a TRULY sharp knife or 2 blade is. Gutted two deer with Mason's Buck 110 folder and it will still shave ! We open our deer to the neck too so we cut thru cartilage holding the ribs to sternum. I promptly sharpened every knife we had and ordered me a KME !!! One of the most awesome tools on the planet IMHO.

I run my thumb across the blade very lightly and if it scares me its sharp enough.

If it shaves, it is sharp. -- But I don't have to shave my whole arm to test 4 or 5 broadheads -- I shave my calf instead ;-)

The shave test has always worked. My calf hair grows back every year.
