I did something yesterday i wasn't sure i would ever be able to. I finally got my grizzlies to shave. I know, i know. It is hard to believe but it is TRUE! I utilized the advice i got on here and the finishing touch was the poor mans sharpening tutorial that someone on here did recently. I ground them down to a burr on my table top belt sander (yes keeping them cool). Then hit them just a stroke or two on some 320 grit. Finished up with a jewlers rogue on a piece of leather. In the end it was quite simple. But it was a bit frustrating to get a good process down for the sharpening impaired.
Thanks for all the help guys
I had the same thing happen with grizzlies. could not get them shaving sharp.. until I got the first one sharp, then the rest came easy.(er).
Way to stick to it.My experience was also the same but I knew it could be done and stayed after it.It took me quite awhile and had to change techniques a few times but the results are impressive and a lot of what I learned helps with other heads.
Feels good don't it! Last night I finally got a Simmons Tree Shark shaving sharp. I've been trying off and on for a couple years, and last night I finally stuck with it. I can get all my other heads to shave, the Simmons was the last. I'll be loading my quiver with Tree Sharks and Interseptors now.
The KME broadhead sharpener makes it pretty easy to get Grizzlys shaving sharp. KME plus several grits of sandpaper on a flat surface = scary sharp!

Been there! I finally made myself a present with some of my volleyball officiating money. I'm glad I did. It keeps the angle correct so broadheads get sharp quicker. I'd like to have the knife sharpener, but I'm with you there. Maybe next year :dunno:
yeah i'm sure ill own a kme at some point. Maybe when the baby gets out of diapers.
