Not much action tonight. Did have this guy come through. He passed by about 40 yards away and I just had to give him a grunt. He bristled up and walked right in front of me looking for the intruder.

Good picts Tom...stay after them,it's only a matter of time & can happen real fast..only takes the right deer to walk by..lol..I check bout every night to see if you've smacked a "biggun" yet..
That's a shooter for me. Can't afford to be picky huntin' public land in Jersey. Your pics are great TJ, keep'em coming! Good Luck also.
Cool shot of him all bristled up!
chris <><
and...WHY didn't you shoot him with an arrow rather than the camera?! Here in PA, I wouldnt think twice about takin a buck like that!
Good luck with your hunt !!!! this are great pics
Love the pics......... It is always cool to see deer puff up, and look for a fight.
Nice pics.
Hey Dannybows, did you ever end up going to Turkey swamp and do some camping and hunting ?
By the way my friends brother went and had 3 coyotes around his tree the whole afternoon, he was afraid to shoot them because there not in season.
Nice photos. Thanks for sharing. I've seen a few deer like him where I hunt, but I'm hunting in a Texas county with antler restrictions (13" spread) and he would be an illegal buck.
You must have a nice camera Tom. Those are great pics. For those of us that would shoot that buck, just check out Tom's avatar and you can see why he passes on some bucks. Keep 'em coming, love that bristled up pic.
Very nice!!
I'd have to let him pass here in NY as well..... RIGHT
He is a dead deer walking if he cones by me! Glad you can let them grow though. Some places are better than others but still the same thrill.
tj i see you have a lot of self control to let that buck walk, awesome pics! ruddy

If you could see the other bucks that Tom has seen on his hunting properties, you would understand his reasons for passing on this one!
KYTJ,
That is a healthy looking young buck. He should be a very nice one in the next year or two. Beautiful photos. I love the Kentucky countryside. I grew up in southern Ohio and spent lots of time in Kentucky with my grandfather. The deer there are awesome.
Thanks for posting the photos.
Joe
I love your posts TJ...thanks for taking the time.
Looks like he is crossed with a razorback hog!
Big attitude for a youngster! You gotta admire the fire!
Thanks again TJ...hunt hard brother! :wavey:
Nice. Good luck.
Thanks guys. My camera is an Olympus SP-570UZ. It is smaller and lighter than a removable lens SLR and takes very nice picts with lots of features. When I bought it, it was the largest point and shoot out.
great pics..
Nice young seed Tom, ought to be a nice one in a couple three years!! I might start taking my camera on stand with me, nice to share with others.
kybowman
thats a pretty nice deer. woulda shot him if he was closer than 40
Great photo's Tom. I am sure there is one out there you are waiting on. Year in and year out you have managed to bring it all together. I have faith this year will be no exception.
Louis
Cool!! Hope THE one comes by soon TJ
Our orange madness opens tomorrow, have to see what makes it thru that! LOL
Ours also Kenny. The depression will set in soon after. I know its a necessity to keep the numbers down but that doesn't make me hate it any less.
Your picts let me remember what they look like, thanks.
