Hi guys. I am looking at buying a PSR takedown but I also like the PTF one piece. Which would you buy and why?
I am looking for something that is quite/ forgiving and accurate. Thanks
I also have a Roy Hall Navajo bow on order. OF the three which would you prefer? Thanks
Two completely different bows. PSR is designed to fit the hand like a BW Longbow. More suited for hunting.
PTF is designed as with a recurve grip for target shooting. Has a longer sight window
I like the PTF.I have a TF V which is one of the best shooting recurves I ever owned.I also have a PSA X and the TF is definitely my go-to bow
PTF! I've owned several of both and
the PTF is IMO a better bow.
You said quiet, forgiving, and accurate. Both bows will be very close on quiet and accurate.
The PTF will blow the other away on forgiving. The PSR is the style bow that Howard Hill said he wasn't good enough to shoot. You don't have the mass weight in the handle and the throat of the grip is not near as forward. Those are two of the things that make a bow forgiving. :wavey:
i have had both the PTF is hands down a better shooting bow i loved mine
definetly the PTF, one of the sweetest shooting bows you'll ever find.

I Love my TFV Ironwood...If you are not gonna get on a plane to go hunting why get a take down?...Mine is 60", 51# @ 26" and I use it for 3D, stump shooting, hunting big and small game...Quiet as all get out with a heavy (10gr. per pound of draw weight) arrow...
Kinda stood with that one bow for almost six years...Then being on this site "MADE ME" buy a used long bow and trade up for an old '67 Grizzly...Etc., etc...
... mike ... :banghead: ... I vote PTF ...
PTF all the way.

I spent sometime in Nixa, Mo this spring. Shot the TF and the longbow for quite a while. It was not the first time I have spent time shooting both bows. I shoot a SAV along with a Morrison as my primary hunting bows. I decided to order the PTFX, 58", 55 lbs at 28", Asbell grip, all bacote. The Widow Guys let me pick out my veneers for the back and belly. I must have looked through 100 sets of matched veneers. This is going to be a special bow. You can not go wrong with a TF.
