This is my third year hunting with trad gear. First year I missed a nice buck when the string caught on the sleeve of my ghillie suit. Last year I was nursing a bad back and didn't get a shot. But election day things came together. that morning I was in my stand on my brother's property. I said to myself, the first good shot I get I'm taking it (other than a fawn). I saw 5 does early, but no shot. Later about 9:30am, I looked up the hill and watched 4 fawns walk around the point. I wondered where the older does were. About that time I heard something to my left, a larger doe. She made her way to just above me at about 10yrds. I pulled, anchored and when the feather touched my nose. The next thing I remember was seeing the hair fluff on her side, I've always heard about that. ;) I watched her go down about 40yrds from my stand. Well hear are the results.

(This Trad stuff is great!) I agree!! Congrats on a nice doe!
the first one is very memorable.. Mine was 18 years ago and I can still see that cedar shaft, dipped in white paint with white feathers arching through the air and bam up to the feathers in a mule deers ribs. Then trying to wait the 30 minutes... Enjoy the moment... Joe
