Well here we go. Nov 3rd about 2:30pm headed in to hang the climber. On my way in alot of rubs and scrapes. I get to just about where I'm gonna go up for the afternoon. Up on the ridge I see a deer. Take a quick look at him through the binocks small spike. So I keep going. I'm putting the stand on the tree and looking around at the same time and catch some movement. It's that spike headed right for me. He come's about 20 yrds away checks me out then heads north. That was cool. So up I go. Get settled in and notice some movement in the cedars. So I hit the grunt call and the deer starts to come my way. I can see he looks like a forkhorn. I thinking if he's got brow tine he'll be a six. So he comes to the drainage ditch gets a drink and starts to head away from me so I hit the call and he turns and starts for me. Now I can see hes got three on one side that makes him legal food. He's coming in from behind me so I get the bow and he broadside 15 yrds right behind me I draw and release and my bottom limb hits the stand makes a funky sounds and I watch the arrow go right between his legs. He goes off about 20 yrds and just looks around so I grab another arrow nock it and hit the grunt call. Well here he comes just walking right in. This time hes coming in on my left. Walks right in at 12 yrds he stops looks right up at me dumb founded so I draw and let it go. Dam I hit him a little back but it looks like maybe one lung and liver. So I'm hanging out wondering what to do.So just checking out the sites and up on the ridge I see atlers so out come the binock. I see that spike and then I see a seven point. So I figure what the heck. I grunted at him about ten times. Well here he comes like he was on a string. He comes right to the spot where I miss the five. He was all puffed out and ready to fight. He hung out for about five. Then walked off alittle made a srcape beat up a little tree and then wonder off. What a great show. So it was getting late so I decided to leave him for the night cause of the shot and it was gonna be a cold one. I can say I was worried about the yotes getting him and on the way out I heard one yipping. So a sleepless night and out in the morning. I found half of my arrow but no blood. So I start a grid search and on my second pass I found him. Took some pix's and then open him up. He was still pretty warm inside and the way he was laying with he's back legs under him I'm glad I didn't push him. So I'm dragging him out and I'm just about to that ridge and I see movement. So I stop and kneel down and here comes a nice 8 point. He walks right by at 18yrs looks at me and keeps walking. That was crazy. So there's the story. Hoyt Gamemaster. ASAT camo and MUZZY PHATOM and lonewolf climber and the Good Lord..Got the Job Done..Now it's Doe hunting..Little long winded but you asked for it..
