Got my first Widow in the mail today. :D I'm ancy to get off work now to go shoot it. Bought a Black Widow PTF II 56 inch 45# at 27". She's a beauty! I'll post pics later, just wanted to share! Arrow suggestions welcome, I shoot Beaman MFX 600 off my 50# Rio Bravo and Gold tip 3555's also. I'm thinking 150 grain tips might be too much for the drop in pounds though. I'll find out tonight! :archer:
you are going to love that bow....
i want a ptf so bad!
what sood did you get?
wood
I stopped at the house to get my arrows and flung a few in the back at the back yard buck. Shoots nice, very smooth, different hardly any vibration, that might take a little getting used to. The PTF II "II" is "Greywood" Has red inlay. Looks great!
Sounds nice. Let's see her.
The 3555 will work but you might need to use 125 grain points I like the CX heritage 150 cut at 29" with 125 grain points I have a PTF 47# at 28" Jerry
Thanks Jerry, I'll look those up. I was thinking 125 would be the ticket. or a 100 with a 20 grain insert on the beamans. I'll post pics tonight.
graybark is my favorite!!! oooooooo post pictures i got to see it. this might make me dip into the savings account!!!!
Awesome! :clapper:

Very nice
pretty ... congrats
Thats just stunning. Congrats
man i want that bow
Thanks, guys I'm really enjoying it. I'm ready to kill something with it.
I had a TF and it is pretty cool it has the SA limbs on it,,,, anyway my 45@28 PSA (same limbs) shoots a 29" heritage 90 w/ a 200gr point which is bareshafted and fletched with 3-4" shields. I'm not sure what the deflection of those shafts are but cut all the fletch of one of your MFX shafts, hold the bow perfectly verticle and post back and tell us what that arrow doe and we can tell you from there.
also take the serial number and register on the "widow wall" to post there also.
Stunning bow!
I'm awaiting my confirmation on the widow wall now. The turn around is not very fast... Registered on monday. I'll shoot some bare shafts tonight. I like the Beaman MFX 600 spines thus far out of it. I'm shooting the 3555 gold tips also, but they feel a bit heavy and fly differently. They are approx 500 spine though and a tad heavier. They shoot great out of my 50# though.
Nice looking bow. Congrats!
Talk about curves! Man that one is a beaut!
very nice! Never had a ptf but one thing that tells me they are a great bow is, you rarely see one in classifieds. :archer:
I like her, she wont be on any classifieds in the near future. Unless my lady manages to pry her from my cold dead finger tips. :nono:
Very nice!
Congrats! Good Hunting! :archer: :archer2:
Sugar ain't that sweet!
I REALLY like those Greybark Widows! Enjoy!
good luck with your new bow.
Very Sweet Bow. I considered buying that one myself!!
Old School, I'd recommend it! She shoots flat and smooth, Now if only The shooter can get aligned! :)
She's a beuty. I'll have one someday.
Very attractive bow.
Hope she serves you well.
I have a TF III and at 52 lbs. it's the fastest and smoothest pulling recurve I own. The only negative thing I can say is that it is also the heaviest recurve I have ever picked up and that is without a bow quiver mounted on it.
Hey Jeff,
Congrats on finally getting your PTF. It looks great. I'm sure you will enjoy shooting it.
Hey Jeff---I have a PTF3 Autumn Oak 60 inch 58@28
but my draw is 26inch so it is about 52@26.I am in love again.I bought the bow for those wet sloppy days [rain and/or snow].One wipe with a towel and I am good to go again. No takedown--to dry and reassembly etc.It is lighter carrying weight than my PMA
and is a joy to carry on those long wood hikes.
I like it so much that I am thinking of ordering another one--but lighter for my old age--I am now
in my 69th.year.
Jeff--I forgot to say mine is Lefthanded.
I got my PTFX in September, and I really Like the way it shoots. It's Brazilian Rosewood Riser and Curly Bubinga Limbs. -Mike
Nice, loo9ks like it will be a widow maker.
56" PTF.....one of my all time favorite bows.....meat for the pot!
