Title: Beman Vs Easton
Post by: amicus on November 04, 2010, 02:23:00 PM
The other day I walked into the local archery store and asked for a dozen beman ics hunters 340. The owner said that he did not have any at the moment but had some easton arrows. He said that the eastons were the exact same arrow. The only difference was the name. Arrow weight was the same but just wondering if anybody can verify this? Any info would be appreciated.

Easton owns Beman.

I use easton shafts and they work great for me.  If they spine the same then they essentially are identical despite the name.  If Easton owns Beman then they shafts are probably made in the same plant.

Some of their shafts are identical. There are only a handful of carbon shaft makers. many of the brands you know by other names were made for them by one the top 3 or 4 manufacturers. if the specs are identical then they are likely made in same plant and the only difference is labeling and sometimes price.

Which Easton's were they,Easton makes quite a few different carbon arrows. They are both consistent in spine, but if they are different diameters it may affect your tune alittle.I think Easton/Beman makes excellent arrows.

Im not sure which easton's they are but supposed to be the same as beman ics hunters. I knew that easton was associated with beman but did not know the details. I just want to make sure they are the same. I really like my bemans and would hate to spend the cash on some eastons and than not be the same.

Like others have written, Easton owns Beeman.  However, while arrows are similar not very many models would be the "same".  For example, there is no Easton brand that is the same as the Beman MFX Classic. Are there Easton shafts that fill the same bill (excep for appearance)? Yep.

More than a grain of salt is needed when you ask questions of some people in some archery shops. I very rarely ask the shop workers anything except 'do they have this or that'. If they don't have it I don't want to why I don't need it. For example, looking for some inserts for 1916 shafts several months ago I was told 'no one shoots aluminum anymore'.  I know the majority of folks shoot carbon (among all archers not just traditionalists) but there are still plenty of aluminum fans out there.

I had to pull four pieces of a Beman shaft out of my hand when one exploded when I released it. It might have been my fault since I was stump shooting but I'm still scared to use them.   :(

I'd take a flying guess that the ICS is the same arrow as the Epic that I shoot sometimes.  Really good arrows but the 600's can be a little delicate.  As for the MFX, I believe they are an AXIS with the wood grain cover, hence the extra weight.  From all the carbons I've shot and destroyed my AXIS are in a whole nother league for tough...I mean hit a concrete wall head on with a 60lb Groves Spitfire and they bounce back about 8' and jump back on the nock for more.

The Easton ST Epic's are a smaller diameter then ICS,ST Epic take their own nock and insert, they are 9/32".Axis/MFX use the same nocks and inserts.Easton Power Flight are the same diameter and use the same nocks & inserts as Beman ICS.

Yeah Easton owns Beman.  Get some MFX classics you will not regret them at all.

Beeman is owned by Easton but that doesn't mean the arrows are the same. I don't know if you can get any of the 2 to match with weight, spine or diameter. Just buy the ones you like and never believe ANYONE  in an archery store. They are there to sell their product not help you. Frank

X2! The Beman MFX Classics are the best arrows I have ever shot. And I've shot several.
