But he is an 8 pt. and was the first one I had in shooting distance in 2 years. I need the meat too so I took him. Heart shot him at six o'clock and he made a dash through a ton of buckbrush. Heard him crash but didn't see him when I went to look so I blood trailed him.

Here is where he ended up at.

I was only 5 or 6 yards away from him at one point but couldn't see him.
Here is the damage a razor sharp Magnus one can do

Nice job. I shot one about the same size two weeks ago today and he is my best buck with my recurve.

Great Job, and excellent shot!
Nobody should compare anything to what Uncle B comes up with, that's just an unrealistic rule of measure. Number one....Missouri Ain't Iowa, number 2......and speaking for myself......I'll never have enough property to manage for whitetails like that in any state, so back in the real world....guys like me take what God gives us.
Finally number 3......I'll never be able to shoot like Uncle B if I live and hunt till I'm 100 yrs young.
Once again Scott, Great shootin' and great buck.....don't think for a second that I would pass on one just like him with trad gear in my hands!
Job well done, nothing like a good heart shot. :clapper:
Congrats!!!

Good job Scott. You know we're all in this for the personal satisfaction. I guarantee I didn't enjoy my buck anymore than you did yours just because mine had more bone on his head. What I shot the other day almost anyone else reading this could have done. I mean, thirteen yards broadside looking the other way? I was just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to capitalize on my opportunity. You did great. Congrats on the great memories. Uncle B
Nothing like the feeling of approaching a downed deer.
The smile on your face shows you EARNED it.
Bowhunting at it`s best!!!
Congrats! :archer2:
Nice buck Congrat!! Joe
Barry,
You are way too modest. I am sure you put about 10x the work into it that I do, that is why you are know as the CLOSER and get all the big bone. :) They are all trophys to me that is for sure. Thanks everyone for the compliments.
 nice work
