Title: padding loop process question
Post by: mand0ralen on November 04, 2010, 05:19:00 AM
hello,

i'd like to pad my flemish strings loop with 8 more strands of material, however i'm quite new at string building and do not know the loop padding process.

Can someone be king enough to give me some hints or directions to a tutorial (google and youtubed without any relevant findings).

best regards,

++M

When I pad a loop I cut the pad string 8-10" and line them up by offsetting them in my hand by about an inch.  What you end up with are 4 strands (4 on each string for a total of 8 pads) with a total length of 12-14".  Then you just have to mate them with the actual string and begin twisting.  I like to use black and tan strings so I will put tan pads on the black side and black pads on the tan side. Make a neet looking loop when you are done.
