Welcome Yves. I am fairly new to this site, compared to most of the members, but I have seen that the members are helpful, respectful, and a great bunch. Hope you have fun coming back to traditional archery.
Lots of good info and advice here. Good Luck

If you like to read, a great traditional bowhunting magazine is Traditional Bowhunter Magaizine http://tradbow.com/
When I'm not on here, I am usually reading the magazine.
Great place.

Merci beaucoup,thanks
G'day Yves! The French guys certainly know how to hunt wild boar with tradbows!

Bienvenue aussie. Je parle francais seulement un peut.
I just hate it when my hobbies get in the way of my recreational pursuits. Where I live I can be fly fishing for pike at the same time I am scouting for deer.
Bet you would love my favourite pike rod, a Scott G-series 10 wt (did you know that Scott used to make the G-series in 10 wt). I bought it from the auctions site for $140 about 3 years ago. It was virtually unused.
Enjoy, you came to the best website in the world.

Welcome to you Yves! Welcome to the :campfire:

Yves, the only Loomis that I have is a rod that was built on an old style IMX blank in 9 wt. It is the rod I have been using this fall as all the others are stored about a 4 hour driver away. I have been fishing it with an 8 weight Rio Pike line, which is a very good cold weather line.
I am jealous of your Cross Currents, especially in the GLX series. You obviously know quality rods and are not afraid to spend some argent to get them.
I had a Streamdance Metolius 6 weight for a trout rod, but I sold it cause I needed money. I also had a Sage XP 596 but I sold that at the same time.
If I was not so busy buying bows right now I would get a Sage 5 wt made up to go with the Rio Ridge 5 wt line I bought for a cheap 5 weight rod I bought as a temporary fix. Sage has a new blank out for 2011 that is a retro of the XP. That line may be the best one I have ever used. I am very happy with every Rio line I own.

Hey Yves,
You wanna come fishing for big pike in Canada let me know.
Check out www.wollstonlakelodge.com (http://www.wollstonlakelodge.com)
I used to be the principal of the school up there and I have some native buddies there that would take us out.
You can also get walleye, lake trout and Arctic grayling there.
We could take a big detour down to Calgary to Dennis's place and you could shoot the latest and greatest in trad gear in his basement. Ever shoot a $1200 long bow. He can sell you an Adcock off the rack. Dennis is manyletters on here.
