Thought I'd finally post up some pics of my Bruin with the checkered grip I had done a few months ago.
I've owned just about every 3 piece recurve bow out there and always wanted to have my "favorite" bow checkered, well, here it is....
WOW!!! I thought I loved the grip before, but now I'm hooked! This is the only thing I could think of to improve a bow that was made by Mike Steliga-Who has been making bows for about 30 years.

Mike is a real master craftman,I always loved my Bruin. Those checkerings really add character on that already beautiful bow.
NICE JOB!!
Very nice! Who did it for you?
Mike does make a great bow.
Lets see a picture of the whole bow.
Looks nice.

I have a Schafer and I was thinking the same thing, but I know Dave sends his out, or did when I bought mine.
Very nice!
I would like to see a picture of the entire Bow as well.
Great checkering job on a good looking bow, hope we find out who did the work.
WOW, that looks nice
Absolutely beautiful! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/Rooselk/Graemlins/Smilies/G-Thumbsup2b.gif)
Very nice, I'm curious also to hear the checking craftsman's name.
Man, that's downright gorgeous! Nice touch.
I agree with the other comments absolutely beautiful!
This was beautiful work indeed, and a nice riser it seems :)
I like the checkering but love the bow. Man do they shoot and are so easy to get very quiet. My favorite modern recurves.
Very nice and Mike makes a great bow.
I was thinking about getting my bruin checkered this winter. I have stopped thinking after seeing those pics. Its going to get done. Who did that for you?
Looks like Dave's work. He did all my bows. He did by Bighorns, Schafers, Black Widows, Morrisons, Robertsons, etc. It sure adds to the beauty and lines of the bow.
You guys guessed it!
Dave Windauer did the grip.
If you want to see more pics, search the pow wow for bruin bows and you'll see all of the pics from last spring when I got it. Also, it's on the homepage of Mikes site, next to "limbhangers" osage bow.
Schweet!
Wow, I've always thought the Schafers have had the finest checkered grips.
I REALLY like the looks of that. The bow is awesome and that checkering just Rocks!
