How do they compare in performance and quality to the big name brands?
I have had one for three years now .... Very EZ to hang, very solid when hung, and quiet. I have the Chief model. They are not cheap but worth the $$. I have not owned any Big name models but I have hunted from several like the Summit and Lone Wolf so as far as comfort and quiet I am happy with my Chief. I bought the tall seat model, my inseam is 33" and I'm glad I did.
I have one and use it as a loaner. It is nice but Lone Wolf blows them out of the water IMO

they are one of the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lw r okay but the platforms arent the most comfortable
its more like how do the big names compare to CHIPPEWA!!
They are top notch. Quite, sturdy, and easy to set up. I have 3 of them.
I have one of the smaller ones, very lightweight easy to hang, solid and quiet in the tree. The high seat height and adjustable base angle work great. I like mine.
Have to agree with pacopperhead . . how do the others compare with CHIPPEWA!!
Some of the best stands made IMHO.

I'm with elkken on this one! These stands are super sturdy and WILL NOT MOVE when hung properly. I love mine!
I think they are the best stands on the market very easy to hang, very sturdy, quite and made in the USA.
Hmmm. It isn't that I don't like them, but the chain is a pain and heavy and you have to carry it separately. Not to mention that I forgot it a few times...I wear both on my back to get up the tree so there isn't a difference there. They are both stable and sturdy, but I guess you are right that the wedgelock's base makes it a little more free of potential rocking. Although the LW really bites in. I have used both extensively and still prefer the LW. I use the smaller versions of both and always take them down after hunting so maybe there is a bigger difference in the larger versions.
I have both a LW and a Chip. They are both awesome stands that I hunt out of a lot. I'm a pretty big guy and both stands support my big butt nicely. I think the Chips are still made in the USA! Peace!
I purchased a chippewa wedgeloc this year. Have used it about ten times so far and have to say am impressed! I have used all kinds of ther years, loc on, summit, lone wolf, gorrilla, rivers edge yada yada. The chippewa is comfy, well built and durable. The two best things is that one made in USA, and two it is the quickest stand I have ever put up and convient. Look at the dvd or webpage, it is just 10 sec and is quiet. Once you get it up and stand on it, it is like the site says, you can stand on edge and will not shift. I think it is the best have used, I know little pricey, but I sat down last week and added up the stands I had over the last 4 yours and was stolen and am still money ahead, You cannot go wrong with this American made stand.
I have owned a dozen different stands and still have a few of them hanging on the cabin garage wall. I use only the Chippewa. My buddy loves his LW. I think it is safe to say both represent fine stands.

I'm 100% with pacopperhead.
i own 7 brutus maximus stands
I own two Chippewas. Love 'em both. Big one for me smaller one for my wife. (unless she claims the big one) Put up propperly, you can not beat 'em. The only stand I use in the swamp, anymore. Heck the only stand I use at all!

Be safe out there!
They are high quality stands that don't make noise and are easy to hang. I spent a week in the Super Ghost in CO with no issues. I have afew other larger and would say you can't go wrong in adding one to your arsinal.
What are you using for steps to get up to the stands?
I have the Chippewa. And also the seat the sell.
They have a strap instead of the chain if people are looking for lighter.
The chain will not bet chewed by animals.
Great stands.
I have hunted out of them all and they are the best!! Lone Wolf climbers are nice but their hang on for me was noisy. Chippewa stand are light and quiet and I make my own brackets for about 6-7 dollars a piece. I have 35 trees prepared with a bracket and just carry a stand in with me. I own 3 of them. Shawn
Thanks. Great info because I can't look at any locally so this input confirms thoughts.
Chippewas are the best hang on stands.
all I use now - gave half of my eagles and climax stands away.
