Title: dale dye bow ?
Post by: PAPA BEAR on October 29, 2010, 12:34:00 AM
well...i could'nt resist the set of 64" medicine wood limbs in the classifieds so i pounced on'em.my question is this.should i try and find a riser by itself or is it a wiser move to send the limbs to dale when its my turn and have him match them to a new riser?  :dunno:  seems like finding a riser might be a tall order.

Larry, you are killing me!LOL. I am not sure that you can just buy or order a riser and it will fit those limbs.I am pretty sure that you have to send them to Dale for the fitting,I remember to have read this before.Anyway a phone call with that great guy is always a pleasure.

I've purchased limbs for a Dye that were not built for the riser I had, although the fit was not perfect, it wasn't bad. It shot great! I believe you could pick up a riser and it would be fine till you could send it to Dale for fitting.

Believe me, you should send them to Dale.  His limbs are each made custom for every bow.

Dale will want to fit them, whether you get a new riser, or a used one...at least, that's what he told me last time I talked to him!

i called dale today and i have to send the limbs to him so they will be matched to the riser.he's a very nice fellow.surprised me that the wait on just a riser is only around sixty days.i am gonna go with the short riser which will make a 62" bow and will also drop the poundage a few pounds which is fine with me.

Papa,  I think   :dunno:   putting those 64" limbs on a short riser making a 62" bow will RAISE the poundage, not drop.

Papa Bear,

I'm sure glad you got those limbs! I was trying very hard to resist. Dale has one of my risers, presently, and I was sorely tempted to send him those limbs to fit to the riser...thank you, sir!  :D

Larry, you did good on those limbs.
You are going to gain something if you order the short riser!!

Just 60 days for the riser that's excellent. I need to order a riser for an extra set of limbs I have but I have Medicine Point due next month..

Not to far behind you Frank. My Medicine Point is due in January.
I switched my 64" Tails End Limbs with my 62" Medicine Point limbs. The finish fit was noticably unmatched but both bows shot just fine. But in my opinion the fit and finish of both bows are two nice to not have a perfect match fit of limb to riser so I switched them back.
