I have just really gotten into trad archery. My 1st purchase was a new Sarrels Puma. I have a chance to purchase a 2001 model BW SA 11 56" 48# @ 28" "Graybark" recurve for $500.
Can anyone give me any info on this bow? Is this a good price? Bow is in excellent shape and the current owner has barely shot it since he bought it new.
It's a great bow and a good price... send pics if you get it.
Sounds good. If you can get the serial number call BW and they can tell you about the grip and tiller and anything else you would like to know. You can order you a new string while you are at it too! x2 on the pics
If you dont like it you can always trade for someting you do.And thats a very fair price for that bow.
Here are the pics he sent me. I am waiting on some better ones. What do you guys thinks?

I would buy it, espacialy if it comes with the arrows!! I mean, new it goes for $1000 and there is the wait, mind you the BW wait is realy short you stil have to wait!! And at that price, if it doesn't feel your fancy, you can resale for the same price or more!!
Good luck!
ya send me his address and ill buy it and you can get it from me...lol....heck of a deal
Looks like I'm buying it. Guy emailed me and said he take $450 for it. Sending him a MO in the AM.
A 2001 should be a handcrafted model (mine was), not precision crafted.
Not all handcrafted bows will have the new precision crafted limbs fit well. They can mod some older bows for good fit, but not all (mine was one that couldn't- so they made me a new riser when I had to have new limbs- damaged in a fall).
Nice bow, good price too. Now what demand there may be in the used market, for a handcrafted one over a precision crafted??? I dunno.
Like the looks of the non phenolic limb wedges on the older bows :) They can still make them that way, but IIRC it's $75 or so more.
Yeah, go for it! I bought a similar SA for the same price, and it was really cool!
I have a similar bow of the same year and it looks to be quiter and lighter than the Precision crafted ones. You can any way replace the limbs because at that time they were already very consistent to build the bows.
blue tick you know it's againist the law to steal, i would even foget my ethics for that steal. i've owned 5 widows, the one i have now i bought used, spent many hours on many sites looking, and never found a deal like that. heck! i would give you 550 right now. 475 if you don't like it. ha! i know i'm partial to bw's, there are a lot of really good shooting bows out there, but there's not any bows that shoot better. congrats!
That's a great deal! I can't wait for my new widow to get here. I had a SA like that in a 56# and it was a screamer!
I hunted with a 58 inch SA one year and found the bow to be a little short. I know that having a compact bow has value, I struggled with it. But that is me. If your draw length is 27 inches or shorter I think it would be a great deal.
buy it!!!! if you dont i will
I've decided I'm going to pass on the deal. Too many irons in the fire at this point. If anyone does want this bow. Let me know and I will help you with it!
