I like mine. It's light for a climber, fairly easy to use, quiet. The new ones have the flip up seat, which I wish mine did, that's about the only thing I don't like about it. There are several deer around here that didn't like it more than me though.
I got one of the older ones too, and love it! Easy to set up, quiet and light! Only thing I HATE about summits is putting them back together in the dark after your done for the evening. Practice putting them together before the season in the light!

I've got the bushmaster, which is Cabela's version. It has a slightly larger platform and is pretty comfortable. So far I'm pretty happy with it.
I've tried the older version.Seemed like very little useable deck on it.
I have an older one and like it.
I have a Clear Shot, smae thing but a triangle seat. I've had mine for 6 years and it works well although the bolts that raise the seat now squeek - scared a few last year with it and can't get it to stop. Not even with Liquid wrench. I use a Lone Wolf Aplha as often as I can. The Summit is light a you can always be secured to the tree.
I bought one last year and I love mine. I killed a nice doe back in Sept out of it from a maple tree at about 10 ft. That was the only tree I could get in and was regretting not taking my hang on that day. However, it worked out great as I was able to get my body up into the canopy of the tree. They are light,quiet, and rock solid.
I just purchased a new one this season with the flip up seat. I really like it. You need to practice flipping up the seat quietly. The platform is small but adequate with the seat flipped up. No regrets on the purchase.
Always wear a harness all the way up and down no matter the stand.
I have a Summit Switchblade on ****. My wife and I hunt alot together so I am going to sell hers next. When we hunt together now she wants a pop up. And she ain't talking about viagra.
The Summit Switchblade is the best climbing tree stand bar none.
They are quiet going up and down the tree. I have climbed up with does in the beans 75-100 yards away undetected. There is nothing at all to rattle or make noise. You can sit for hours in comfort and fall asleep in saftey. They pack out easy and you can shoot your bow with them on your back.
Should you ever "God help it" become a black powder hunter you can lower the seat and use the bar as a rifle rest.
I prefer my Summit ladder stands but when mobility is the question the Summit Switchblade is the answer.
Just one old timers perspective.
I bought an Open Shot Deluxe top section to go along with my Razor bottom section. The Razor and Viper have a longer (3-4") bottom, which I think is superior. Perfect climber for my bowhunting.
We have several Summit climbers.
Two Bushmasters, and one of the new Open Shots.
The fold up seat makes the Open Shot great. I would call it perfect if the platform was as long as the Bushmaster.
With a little practice, they are easy to use, and can be as quiet as you allow them to be.
I have a summmit Goliath. And have not used anything else since.
Very solid, easy to sit and climb, and the Goliath is a little oversized. Only thing is getting used to the fixed rail around the stand.
I have one & found it difficult to climb with the open climber. I bought the razor climber part to go with it, & now I love it. With the razor you sit & climb which is much easier & then the bar folds under the seat. Mike
