So my sister lives in Nixa,Mo. I have yet to visit her new home. I just noticed that BW is based there, guess I might have to make the drive this winter after the season is over. Anyone know if they have a range and allow you to test drive on site. I am in the market for a new bow but I have very little experience with different bows becides the one I shoot now and would love to try out several different configurations. So has anyone been there, do they have a place to shoot, do they even have a shop or anything for people to visit?
Yes, they have a short 10-15 yd shooting area in the store. They have a wall of bows you can shoot and lots of fun stuff to buy. And they love to have people stop in and visit. :) They are open 6:30ish to 4:00 ish M-F.
Cool! My home range is about the same so that will work for comparison and feel. Looks like a family reunion is in order.
There are also a couple of bails behind the shop you can shoot at if you want.
as said above, they have ALOT of bows on the wall, and be prepared to spend some time there, they will walk ya through the shop if ya want, ya might take a few arrows and your glove/tab they have em but its nice to have your own "stuff" when shooting the bows..
Two words.
I'm Jelouse. ;)

That's just mean! You're no Dave Ramsey! :D
By all means, Take the tour ! Very interesting and informative. Great bunch of Guys.
May you say, I just might need to spend some quality time with my nieces in May. If I am there anyway it would be a shame to miss a clinic.
I went to one of the clinics a few years ago I had a great time. You can shoot any bow they have and the food at the clinic was great.
time it the 3rd weekend in May and you can go shoot (your new bow) at the Flat Rock Stickbow 3d shoot. It's about 8 miles west of their shop and generally about 3-400 people shoot at it. 40 targets in one of the nastiest bois d'arc thicket you'll ever see

Yeah, check BW's website...I think it's under 'schools' or something like that. Looks like fun. Depending on when my oldest son gets married in May, I'm going to try to go. It'll be kinda cool to meet Fred A after reading his books. Roger Fulton will answer emails with info, too.
Heres a post for ya.

We stopped by the Widow shop a couple years ago while passing through Nixa. Too bad though that Roger was away for a show somewhere and most of the demo bows were gone, but Toby walked us through the shop and I took some video of everything. The widow boys are top notch and I'll be going again one day.........
Also, Bass Pro Shops store in nearby Springfield is worth a visit too, and there you can visit the archery hall of fame and museum. Be sure to bring your camera.
If anyone wants to move to Nixa I know where a house is forsale. LOL
I am also jealous :archer:
My wife flew us out there for my 40Th birthday. Got me a tour of their shop and a surprise bow. By all means go visit! The Widow guys are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They even helped my wife plan the trip with sugestions on places to stay and sights to see (check out Big Cedar Lodge on line). We had a great time in Mo and can't wait to go back. Good luck, Glen

If you can fit it in, do it! Best time ever!!
I stopped in there this spring. They have an area to test shoot bows and they have a zillion bows to shoot. You will find them to be very friendly and be sure if you can take the tour. It is amazing.

Those clinics usually book out far in advance so you may want to check with them for spots. When I went I had to reserve my spot one year in advance. Just something you may want to check.
I visited their shop about 3 years ago and I did not want to leave. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and they did take me on a tour.
I do the videos for the clinics, and if you're thinking of attending one in May 2011 you better get on the phone to Roger. We're usually booked up about a year in advance, but you can get on stand by in case someone cancels.
Also, the second clinic coincides with the Flatrock shoot. We only stay till noon on Saturday and alot of folks go there to shoot before heading out of town.
Great place to visit, you can shoot any bow as much as you want. They do have bales out back, and the shooting clinic is 1st. class. Worth the time and effort to go. RW
