I need to upgrade. What are your favorites with pros and cons. The new Gorilla model or HSS lite model have my eye.
Thanks.
I love the HSS vest, I have the Reversible model so I can wear it all year. I like that it has pockets for my stuff, and that it is made to last. I have used mine for six years and it is still in good shape. also it is made in USA.
Get the HSS!!!
can't go wrong with hss.
HSS THE BEST BAR NONE.
I've used HSS and Fallguy vests, never did care for the leg strap comfort, and I didn't need all the pockets and frills.
This year I used a Muddy Outdoors Safeguard harness. Lightweight, comfortable, secure, much better than the full vest types I've used. However, I still use the Fall Guy retractor.

Climbing/rappelling seat.
I have a seat of the pants and it is good does not bind like the old Hss ones. I understand the new ones addressed this problem. I think all of them are still a pain. Widow
I would say for season long, HHS ulta light. Less bulk more safety!
SOP harness! I had an HSS but I sold it, too heavy and clunky.
I love my SOP harness. I wear it under my last layer and never have to worry about it being in the way. It is comfortable and easy to adjust.
I use one of the models than came with a Summit climber. I've bought quiet a few climbers and get different harness with about every one. The one I like and use is simple, light and just straps.
I bought an HSS a few yrs back and it was too hot and heavy. Didn't like the seat belt leg strap buckle so gave it too a friend.
I do like the looks of the Muddy Waters and may get one of those.
HSS way to hot and clunky for florida. I use Seat o pants.
I like the Seat of the pants the best, I also have the HSS vest, but it only gets used by people I lend it to.
HSS no doubt, have not tried the new lite version but have a Pro model for cooler weather and the Stalker when it's hot and don't get off the ground without it.
Muddy Outdoors Safeguard harness. No contest in comparison to the others in my opinion.
Tree Saddle. One piece of equipment for everything. I added another pouch which pretty much eliminates a backpack in the early season.
Screaming Eagle harness. I've had it better than 15 year and still in great shape. I bought 3 of them back when and my boys use them also.
I don't like leg strap models although I understand that they are required for new harnesses now.The directions clearly state that if you hang from one of these they are going to cut off your circulation in a short time and if you can't get back to your stand you're in bad shape. I think the older vest types were better than the single belt obviously and I wish they made one without the leg straps
I guess you can cut them off or just not use them but all those buckles get pretty noisy

Has anyone ttried the Gorilla G30 exo tech harness. Thanks for all the input.
If you haven't checked out the Loggy Bayou climbing harness/safety harness it is really nice. A couple different sizes and it is not like spaghetti when you need to put it on. I just cut the toe off an old sock (washed).. and use it over the buckle to eliminate noise of the buckle plastic. I do modify it a bit and use a locking carribeaner clip for attaching to tree strap, and I use the rope for climbing instead of strap and use the strap for permanent attachment to the tree. It is small and comfy and doesn't interfere with hunting.
I have the HSS and am not fond of it. It is a good one to loan to friends who came to hunting camp without a harness. I use the Loggy Bayou harness and like it a lot. The SOP is nice too, but a little more bulky. I like to put my Loggy Bayou harness under my outer jacket and/or vest so I can layer up or take off layers when I need to without removing the vest. The harness is so slim there is no problem fitting outer clothing on top of it.

If you like the looks and function of those two, check this one out...

Another vote for the Seat of the Pants.
