I could not wait to sit this new stand I put up,just off a bedding area,With plenty of sign.I got in this morning checked the wind and waited for the woods to come a live.At about 6.30 I hear the tell tale sound of a deer coming no need for the binos for this one he's a shooter.
I could not of placed him any better for a shot.25yds never knew i was there wind perfect.I made this shot countless times on the 3d range and on deer in the past, but this is not a target and my arrow sails over his back ! AS I sat there I could only laugh and say I'll see you again. He was a big 8pt maybe 18 wide.here"s a pic of one of the rubs around this area >>>>---> ED (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/edoetzel/buckrub.jpg)
That's why they call it hunting, nothing is a sure thing, especially with Trad Gear, been there done that....keep at it for it is all part of our lessons learned... ;) ;)
Sorry you didn't get him but it happens. I've had my fair share of misses through the years. I would rather have a clean miss any time though rather than a bad hit. Good luck.
congrats on the encounter. I blew it on a big 8pt about 3 years ago. I didn't laugh, i wanted to cry. Good luck on another encounter!!!
This says the game isn't over yet.The fun is still there.
Ed hang in there buddy ! A clean miss is the second best outcome. He will be back.
Hey, what the heck, you did your home work and played it out. There is always next time.
I had my big buck come in on real windy day, didn't know he was even there, and once I did, it didn't matter because I had NO shot and he was only 12-15 yds. from my tree.
I am sure like you, It felt good to get that close and not get busted.
Missed a buck at 4 yds last year,it happens, you'll get him next time.
The seasons still young......
What do you mean, You MISSED him!!!!!???
Doesn't sound like YOU Ed!!!!! I've never seen you "miss" much of anything!!!!!
He'll be back!!Next time you'll have him..Keepp the faith..
