hi all,
just got all the stuff to make a B55 flemish string for my longbows (really wanting to test this string material !).
I will try to make one for my 64" Longbow that i draw at #38@28.
My question: what lenght of string should i start with using the B55 stuff (not sure of stretch) and what number of strands should i begin with considerring that i would like a low nmber of strand to keep speed up.
Thanx in advance, you help will be very apreciated !

Flemish or endless loop? If flemish, your jig should be setup so you build the string to the bow length, so use the 64" peg. For a light weight bow like you are shooting, 12 strands would work, maybe 10. I'm not a pro string builder, but from my experience this should be ok for you.
For a lightweight bow like 38#@28 you will be fine with 10 strands.I usally use 12 strands of B50 or B55 for bows 50# and under,40# and under I'll use 10 strands.Have you made strings before? The "Doin the Twist DVD" is a good string making DVD,it can be quite helpful in building strings.
Not to contradict sliveslingr but different jigs can be set up different ways.
The jigs I make are set to make actual string length. The 64 peg would make a 64" string.
You'll want to check your jig's directions to see what it will do.

hello all,
by the way, won't 10 strands of B55 harm the string nocks even if it's FF reinforced ?
