Title: PCH strings from Oliverstacy
Post by: Rick Butler on October 22, 2010, 09:22:00 PM
After reading some of the posts on TG about using skinny strings on BW bows I dug out a 450+ string that I had laying around and tried it on my PCH.  I could'nt believe how much quieter the bow was. So I contacted Josh and had him twist me up a couple of new 450+ strings for the bow. Three days later the strings arrived and I set one up on my bow with a nock point and rubber spider legs tonite.
Wow! What a difference!
Noise level is way down.I'm feeling pretty good about carrying this bow to the woods now. If any of you have struggled to quiet your widows I suggest trying one of Josh's strings.

I find that too,I have bows that are quieter with 450+,some are quieter with 8125 and some with D97.Some bows seem to like different strings,I think it depends on there design.

I put a D10 10 strand from SBD on my PCH and it is quiet as a mouse now. Was way loud before, sounded like a gun going off.

My PCH makes a distinct thunk with the string it came with. Danny where do I get those strings? How many strands is the original widow string?  Is the bow a little faster with the new string?
