Title: Curveball
Post by: BDann on October 21, 2010, 09:58:00 PM
I'm trying out some Arrow Dynamics Trad. Heavy arrows with 175 gr. field points on them, kind of experimenting with the EFOC stuff.  It looks like they start out to the right, then curve left, almost like a curveball looks.  They hit consistently to the left of my 2018's.  My bow is a Thunderstick MOAB, 48#@ my draw length of 30".  The arrows are 32" long.

Are they too stiff?  I was thinking of trying some 200 gr. tips, or maybe 225.  Any suggestions?

Sounds like they are too stiff to me, if you're right handed.

I'd guess you need at least 250 up front, probably 300.

Right handed.  Sounds like I need a bunch more weight up front!

those fatter shafts will make them act stiffer than their spine marking.
I'm not familiar with the MOAB, but if it in not cut to center this will make the problem more severe.

Keep adding weight and see what happens. If they are too stiff eventually you'll hit a weight that will make they fly.

BTW, if you are way off weak or stiff sometimes you can get the opposite result bareshafting so confirm with point weight before cutting anything.
