I talked to Don a few days ago about a quiver for my 56" Shrew Classic Hunter. After discussing my needs he sent me this neat little quiver. It's a 4 arrow Cherokee J1 with "Wing Attachment"
I had not seen an Eagle's Flight quiver in a few years and I must say there has been some very nice improvements. #1 the grippers are thicker and more substantial. #2 The strap is tighter and more secure because of an added buckle. #3 The connecting rod between the hood and the grippers keeps the unit in one piece when removed from the bow. #4 The Wing Attachment allows the arrows to be at an angle on the bow keeping them more in line with the limbs. Because of the deep forward handle and swept back limbs of the Shrew bow, without the attachment the arrows end up being in front of the bow limb instead of behind the limb. On the shorter Classic Hunters and Lil' Favorite bows that sometimes puts the nocks in the dirt when you set the bow down on the bottom limb tip.
Last but not least it just plain looks good and feels good on the bow. I'm thinking in the near future I may be stocking some Eagle's Flight quivers built especially for the Shrew bows.

Ron I bought one myself a few weeks ago. Great quivers, light and solid. My only concern is the hood foam. Not sure how long it will hold up. But you can bet I will buy another foam and quiver when needed. Good practical stuff!
Those quivers and Shrews were made for each other!
Hmm. Can't think of a bow that isn't happy with an Eagle's Flight!
Killdeer
Yes Killdeer, those uiver are perfect for feather weight bows.
I have one too. great quiver
Ron, you always come up with great ideas on enhancing your products. Eagle Flight quivers would be another great idea.

Me too!!!

Gonna have to get me one of them Wings. I love the EFA on my CH but the nocks are below the lower tip, that looks like a sure fix!
Eric
The foam needs to be significantly improved.

I know what you mean... Here's a quiver setup with the arrows below the limb tip.

And the EF with the wing attachment.

Ron let me know what you come up with in regard to the foam. Also are you picking up any vibrations/sounds on the extended arm. I would be interested in one for my CH for sure. tom
Tom, the foam seems to be a little like memory foam. I think if I keep putting the broadhead blades back in the initial slots it'll work fine....time will tell. As for any noise or vibration in the "Wing"?..there's none at all, everything is tight and secure.
I've had 3 Eagle flight quivers ,It's really a great product ,Don treats people right.

I called Don today and ordered some 4 arrow quivers for stock for my Classic Hunter and Lil' Favorite models. The "Wing" attachment is going to be modified slightly. I'm leaving for the annual Shrew Haven hunt shortly so I don't know if I'll have the time to get them on my web site but we'll see.
Recently there was a thread about carrying your bow while on a bicycle. Here's my solution, I took the strap off my Frontiersman shoulder sheath that Art Vincent makes for me and attached it to my bow. It has an adjustable buckle to make it fit just the way you want it to.

Very nice set-up!
Ron, they will go out in the mail (Priority)probably tomorrow, but at the latest Monday.
This quiver setup with the Cherokee J-1 hood, fixed length totem, and wing attachment are the exact same as what I have on my personal bow, and I love it.
As for the EFA foam, I took an aluminum field tipped arrow and heated the fp with a propane torch. Pushed them gently into the foam and melted holes in just the right places. Maybe 3/8" deep. It's a perfect lightweight quiver for my longbow.
I love Eagles flight Quivers..and so do my customers.. Quality, disign, and CUSTOMER SERVICE are where it's at and Don at EFA has it all hands down... :dunno:

Ron,
Great poem!!
yeah, nice poem..
Shawn...
Looking good Ron,I wonder how that woud fit on my AMBUSH recurve? I need to get ahold of Don.
Good luck on your hunt. STAY WARM!
I have several of the EFA quivers and the new Slim Jim Kanati quiver. All of the quivers are very well made and work well on my many incredible Shrew bows. None of my quivers have the "angle" feature, but it certainly seems to be a good idea. Everyone has his preference in materials and design, which is why all of these great products sell well. The velcro works well and so do the rubber straps. There are advantages and disadvantages to each of the attachment systems. I am very thankful to have Ron, Don and John (sounds like a singing group) producing their traditional archery equipment so we can all enjoy our passion. I found each of these three men to be very nice to work with. I have known Ron much longer and better than the others, so I admit my great fondness for him. I have been a very early adopter of Don's Talon gripping system and Totem pole when each of them were developed. They are innovative and effective and improved an already outstanding group of quivers. As soon as I saw John's new Slim Jim I had to order one since I am primarily a 2 blade broadhead guy. Ron designed the best short, light bows ever created, and Gregg Coffey is amazingly skilled at bringing Ron's design to life. Many thanks guys for all your contributions to this industry.

Hey Ron, How long are your arrows? Mine are full lenght GT's and still might get in the dirt at the knock end. Maybe an extension at the hood end would be the ticket for super long arrows?

Good point. I went to nock a field tipped arrow yesterday at a bothersome squirrel and it was pack with Carolina red clay. But this was from a straight mounted commercially produced quiver mounted to a Grizzly. I had leaned the bow against a pine while re-vegetating my ground blind. The quiver angle concept has my attention for sure.
Bow quivers have sure come a long way. The first ones that I used back in the 1950's didn't have a hood to protect the broadheads. A very dangerous situation but we were willing to take the risk for the convenience of carrying our arrows at our fingertips on the bow. The first bow quivers that Fred Bear came up with only held 3 or 4 arrows, not enough fire power in those days of ground hunting and long shots.
I remember when Bear came out with the 8 arrow model bow quiver and I had to have one. I always kept it loaded to the max but the only time I ever need more than 4 arrows was one time in the early 60's when I was hunting on a military reservation and it took 5 shots to secure my venison. :D
Then there was the time I walked through a corn field to get to my stand and when I got there I only had 1 arrow left in my 8 arrow quiver...the corn stalks had plucked the other arrows out of my quiver. It's funny now but it wasn't then.. :D
Here's a picture of my 1958 deer camp, note the bare broadheads in my National bow quiver on my 1955 Bear Kodiak. I'm lucky I'm here to tell the story... :)

Roger do you want red wine of white with that backstrap?... :D
I thought we were going to stop whining :biglaugh:
Redwine, with a side of Jameson....
Ron I knew you could do it. I spent the whole morning smiling as I killed birds over my Gordon Setter :biglaugh:
Thanks Curt...I hate this thread had to go there.
Owlbait, I like that. It's a good policy to wine, not whine.
Ron, I missed the Saturday shipping, but they are packaged and we will take them to the post office to make sure they get off as soon as possible.
They should be there Tuesday or Wednesday. Will go Priority mail. I sent an extra totem so that you can use either camo or trad shaft on the black quiver.
:archer2:
:campfire: Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy now doesn't it?
If they get here by Tuesday or Wednesday that'll be in time. Thanks Don... :D :bigsmyl: :goldtooth:
You can't go wrong with Don at Eagles Flight Archery, he is a class act through and through!!!!!!! From experience.

does this strap on style quiver take from the preformance of the bow. I have had a few selway quivers and always felt like anything on the limbs could take from the bows preformance
Reinmb, The only noticable effect on the bow is that it may stabilize it some, and it may even quieten the bow. If you put it on the fadeouts it won't affect the speed of the bow. :archer2:
reinmb - I know what you mean about the Selways, I felt like they changed the flex point of my limbs. They were well made, but I didn't like them. These straps are different. You don't notice them.
you guys are right Don is very helpful. I ordered a new quiver from him yesterday. thanks for the info
