Post by: droptine82 on October 20, 2010, 12:18:00 PM
Flying out tonight with my ACS and my fiance and her wheely..  First attempt at hogs with the longbow!  My buddy said they are hitting the corn hard now so we should see some action.  Hopefully have pics next week.

Curious!

My hogs are completely UNFOCUSED on corn and are hard at the red and water oak acorns.

If you don't have oaks that could be the reason... be interested to know what part of the state you are going to

Michael, the bucks are very huntable right now at your place....get down there buddy!!!

Call me and I'll tell you what's working.

I'm heading there too right now.....in my mind.  It's a shame the deer are so small (couldn't resist Ray)LOL.  I'll be thinkin about Hog Heaven this afternoon right before I try to rattle in a Delaware "pig".
I know we owe you some pics but time is tight, its huntin' season.

Good luck to ya in SC.

hey....if you'd seen the two bucks I ran into Saturday morning you'd not think our deer were small...

Good luck this evening, Mr. Betts!!!

It is 45 minutes from florence.  Not real sure.  He lives in Conway.  I think it is north of conway though.  I get so turned around out there and they dont help cause they tell me the wrong direction most of the time cause they think its funny!  kinda is!  I will have to get back with ya on the location after sunday.  It has been 3 years since I got to go last and that was with a rifle.  he said they would be too skittish for a bow.  I was out of ammo in 10 minutes cause they wouldnt run off.  It was not my plan but we had a whole day of cuttin up pigs.  My other buddy only saw one hog.  I vowed to never go again without my bow!  Here goes!

Well, here is the update.  Mary shot one friday night at near dark and we tracked it 5 hours with no luck.. It bled enough to follow a track but as soon as it hit the briars things got real tough and we lost it as it came out and hit a mud hole.  Not sure what way it came out of it as it was 30 yards across and 400 yards long.  I never saw a pig in the light.  The only ones I saw were in the flashlight walking in the first morning.  It was a great time though and I look forward to going again.  Next time Mary will not have class and we can avoid the full moon.  They cleaned the corn up evernight  but the trail cameras showed zero action in the day.  Now its time to start with the deer.  Hope you all have a great season and thanks for all the good wishes!
